Switzerland is famous for it’s chocolate and cheese. In this gastronomy tour you will experience it all. First you will visit Switzerland’s oldest chocolate brand factory - Cailler. You will get to know origins and chocolate manufacturing traditions as well as innovations producing one of the best chocolate in Switzerland. Chocolate is made from fresh Alpine milk and all the best ingredients. Follow your nose and enjoy interactive tour in chocolate factory.
When you have tried something sweet, it is time to try another Swiss typical food - cheese. Gruyere region is famous for Gruyere cheese. It is a cheese with strong traditions and you can see it all while visiting and meet a friendly cow Cerise (Cherry) with high knowledge of cheese production. You can experience cheese different ways - use your hearing, smell, touch, sight, taste to find some differences in three stages of cheese maturity: 6, 8 and 10 month.
After the two factory visits, you will probably wake up you appetite and it is the right time to visit Gruyere town. You will have free time in the town to spend it at your own pace - either having lunch, view the beautiful scenery or having relaxing walk through the town.
End your gastronomy tour with a visit of local winery. It is located in vineyards of Lavaux, which has been included in UNESCO since 2007. Discover the old traditions and philosophy of wine producing in Lavaux region and try high quality wines for yourself.
