St. Lucia's Cathedral is the seat of the Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Colombo. Named after the virgin and martyr saint St. Lucy, the cathedral is considered the oldest and largest parish cathedral in Sri Lanka

The tower was constructed as a clock tower in 1856-57 and served also as a lighthouse.
