Leave your Porto hotel in the morning and travel inland to the Douro Valley by air-conditioned minivan. After a journey of roughly 90 minutes, you’ll arrive in Pinh o, the valley’s geographical center, where you'll stop to soak in your first impression of the valley.
You will then have the first tasting of Douro products, visiting a producer of Wines and olive oil, up in the hills that suround Pinh o, enjoy this treats while enjoying the views from this estates.
If you’ve opted to include a boat ride with your tour, you’ll be dropped off in Pinh o for a leisurely 1-hour cruise along the Douro River. Aboard a rabelo boat ─ a traditional cargo boat native to this region ─ travel up the river and pass by Ronc o river tributary from the Douro, before returning back to Pinh o.
Alternatively, you can choose to spend time exploring the beautiful village of Pinh o independently. A highlight is the Pinh o train station, known for its pretty blue-and-white tile murals that depict the scenic Douro landscapes and vineyard workers.
Stop to enjoy a traditional Portuguese lunch with specialties accompanied with local wine.
Continue your tour to one family-run wine estates nestled in the gloriously remote countryside, a setting that offers a glimpse into the way of life in Douro. Learn about local winemaking as you sample various ports, and then explore the shop for treats to take home with you.

Our guide, Pedro was fantastic. He showed us so much of the Douro Valley, it’s history and most importantly the wonderful winery’s. The traditional lunch we experienced in a very family oriented surrounding was just perfect. I would not hesitate to recommend this tour.

The drive takes about an hour to the first winery and our guide, Paula, was very knowledgeable on the history of the area and the wineries. I would highly recommend this tour if you only have a day to visit!

Our trip was excellent and our guide was very, very good. We enjoyed our day beyond expectation. It was worth the money we spent. The wine tasting and meal were excellent.

Full day of adventure. Driver / guide Luis picked us up right in front of our Airbnb promptly and before we knew it we along w 2 other couples were making our way east toward the Douro River Valley. Passing thru area of green wine we stopped for tasting at small but lovely family owned owned winery. That was followed by brief stop in small town of Pinhau where we boarded the boat for nice one hour cruise of the Duoro. Finally delightful time at Vintage Theory where had nice lunch accompanied by their olive oil, white and red wines, capped by coffee by the scenic pool patio and topped off by port tasting. Really lovely day. Definitely worth the cost. Highly recommend.

Tour was great and the lunch was very nice. Our guide Pedro was fantastic and knowledgeable. Would be good if we can go to 2 Port wineries instead!

Well organized. Great guide. Beautiful region. But was really disappointed by the winery that we visited. Such a great region for wine and the small winery that we visited had pretty bad wine. None of us on the trip bought any. And the wine at the restaurant we had lunch at was almost undrinkable. The afternoon port tasting was fine. Just thought people should know what to expect... was just surprised and disappointed by this piece.

By far, the best tour we took in Portugal, and we took 6. Our guide was funny, knowledgeable and made us all feel relaxed and enjoy the day. We were in a group with a beautiful family of 6 and we got to get the best guide ever! She stopped on our way, we had the chance to enjoy small towns and had delicious coffee. I will recommend this tour to everyone and hope that it up get as lucky as we did with our guide!

Making geography, lovely views and tastings were fabulous! Local lunch was really good and they offered both fish and meat dishes with salad and wine. Worth every cent.

Our guide John was very knowledgable and easy going. Good to have a driver that is experienced and comfortable driving narrow windy roads on this region.
