The day begins with an 8am hotel pickup from your downtown hotel in San Miguel de Allende. From there, you'll head to a working horse ranch located 45 minutes southwest of town to start the tour. On the way to the ranch, can see the Ca ada de la Virgen pyramid in the distance. Participate in a comprehensive riding lesson when you arrive at the ranch, then set off on horseback.
Descend for 40 minutes to the bottom of the canyon until you reach the winding La Virgen river. Enjoy views sheer cliffs on every side as you gallop along the river. Arrive at the village of Boca de la Ca ada, then stop for a rest and a hike to search for geodes and quartz crystals.
On your way back to the ranch, you can opt to rappel down a 120-foot cliff, then sit down for a traditional Mexican lunch. Dig into homemade tortillas, organic beans and cheese, quesadillas, nopales (cactus), and more; the tour concludes when you are dropped back off at your hotel around 1pm.
