What to explore:
The proboscis monkey is found only on the island of Borneo in Southeast Asia. It prefers to live in the mixed diterocarp-kerangas forests, mangrove forests and lowland forests near fresh water and rivers. They live almost exclusively in mangrove forests, but can also be found in lowland rainforests. It depends on the mangroves near river edges for resting and sleeping. They avoid deforested areas and avoid human settlements.
Proboscis monkey gets its name from its large, fleshy nose and only found in Borneo Island. They have reddish-brown fur on their back and shoulders, which ends at midsection. Besides, they are excellent swimmers! But swim only when necessary and for pleasure. If you’re lucky, you might able to spot Silverleaf Monkeys and hornbills at the viewing platform.
See proboscis monkeys thus learn about their biology and behavior while feels the amazing nature sound in the jungle. In addition, meet the proboscis monkey at their feeding session. You might see the females holding their little reddish-blonde babies clinging around their mother’s bellies.
