Gunung Mulu National Park is the ‘Jewels in the Crown’ of Sarawak’s, covering 544 sq km of primary rainforest; where the world’s largest cave passage (Deer Cave), the world’s largest natural chamber (Sarawak Chamber), and the longest cave in Southeast Asia (Clearwater Cave) is located.
Day 1 - Upon arrival at Mulu Airport, meet and greet by our friendly representative and check in at your selected accommodation. In the afternoon meet your guide at Mulu headquarters office then proceed to Deer Cave which is reached by following a three kilometer plankwalk, on the way to the cave you'll see superb rainforest, jungle streams and an ancient Penan burial cave.
Deer Cave visit is combined with Lang’s Cave, whose entrance is a short distance away. Lang’s Cave is the smallest of the show caves but its rock formations are well worth seeing. These are made all the more attractive by the strategically positioned spotlights which highlight stalactites and stalagmites.
After exploring the caves, proceed to bats observatory to observe bats flying out of caves entrance at late afternoon. Between 5 and 7pm, if the weather is fine, visitors may be treated to the spectacular sight of a black cloud of free-tailed bats emerging from the entrance of the cave to go in search of food. Return journey on the same plank walk to park headquarters. Overnight at chosen accommodation (D)
DAY 2 - Breakfast at Mulu and transfer with longboat to Batu Bungan - Penan's native Sarawak settlement to observe the tribe lifestyle and to select handicrafts on display for sale at Penan Settlement. Proceed with longboat to Wind Cave and Clearwater Cave. A plankwalk leads from the riverbank to the entrance of Wind Cave, so named because of the cool breezes which can be felt at the narrow parts of the cave. Wind Cave, which is part of the Clearwater system, has many impressive stalactites, stalagmites, flowrocks, helitites and rock corals, some which are illuminated in the ‘King’s” Room. Next is Clearwater Cave, a fascinating cave to scroll around. Plankwalks, paths and small floating bridges make this an easy and enjoyable experience. Picnic lunch is serve at Clearwater summer hut, there is a crystal clear pool that is filled by water that flows out of the cave. This is an excellent swimming spot for you. Journey the continue with longboat to Long Litut. Then jungle trek for 3 hours to Camp 5. Dinner and overnight at Camp 5.(BF/L/D)
DAY 3 - Breakfast at Camp 5 and walk through lowland forest to Terikan river (Pack lunch), then by longboat down the Terikan and medalam rivers to the longhouse. Dinner and overnight at longhouse.(BF/L/D)
DAY 4 - Breakfast at longhouse. After breakfast transfer by longboat down the river to Nanga Medamit, then by road to the town of Limbang. Afternoon transfer to Limbang airport for flight back to Miri or next destination.(BF/L)行程概要出發地點
