Meet your guide at your hotel lobby and depart for Miri City Tours with van. Tour features Malaysia 1st Oil Well or The grand Old Lady located at Canada Hill. The well has an important place in Miri's history, as it was here that oil was first struck by Sarawak Shell in 1910. Next stop is at the largest Taoist Temple in South East Asia, Its elegance architecture is what tourists shouldn't miss. The door arch of the temple itself is impressive with a pair of carving dragons in the entrance of the temple. These carvings are brought all the way from China. You can hear the soothing sound of wind chimes in the temple while appreciate the colorful wall painting, carvings and the statues. One of the unique attractions is its serene and tranquil environment. A visit to the temple is definitely worth it to have a closer understanding on Taoism.
Then continue to Miri City Fan, An attractive open, landscaped park with Chinese- and Malay-style gardens and ponds that is a popular spot for walking and jogging. shoot some memorable photo here and you'll find many attractive view. You'll then heading to Miri Heritage Centre which is a fascinating showcase of the ethnic arts and crafts of northern Sarawak. Stalls are run by the individual producers, and craftspeople can often be viewed at work here. Items on sale includes the Sarawak indigenous Penan's people mats and basketry, Orang Ulu beadwork and woodcarvings, and a variety of textiles from around the state. Cultural performances are occasionally held at weekends. Next stop is at Tamu Muhibbah, the local farmers market and you can find various tropical fruits & vegetable, handicrafts and produce from upriver areas.
Last stop is In late afternoon, going to Piasau Nature Reserve for a tranquil nature walk and discover the hidden gem of Miri City. If you are lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of the beautiful Oriental Pied Hornbill.行程概要出發地點
