You will be picked up from your hotel in the morning and driven to Isha Yoga Centre that is about 18 miles distance from Coimbatore.
The Isha Yoga Center is the headquarter of the Isha Foundation and is situated at the foot of the Velliangiri mountains in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Besides teaching yoga, the Center is engaged in rural upliftment programs for over 2 500 villages in South India. The Center also runs a reforestation and an education program.
The first thing that catches your attention when you arrive at the Center is the 112 feet high bust of the Hindu God Shiva, called Adiyogi. The Guinness Book of World Records has declared it to be the world’s largest bust sculpture. The statue is named Adiyogi, which means “the first yogi”, because Shiva is known as the originator of yoga. The height of the statue, 112 feet, symbolizes the 112 ways to attain liberation from the cycle of death and rebirth that are mentioned in yogic culture. The number also represents the 112 energy points in the human body.
The Center also has a Dhyanalinga, a unique energy form kept under a pillarless 250,000 brick dome. It is the venue for daily sessions of chanting. Experience the powerful vibrations of this unique structure by spending some time in silent meditation here. At the entrance to the Dhyanalinga is a tall pillar that bears the symbols of Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Jainism, Taoism, Zoroastrianism, Judaism, Buddhism and Shinto religions. It is a symbol of the universality of all religions.
Next spend some time in the 64,000 sq. ft. meditation hall. The whole atmosphere is serene and charged with positive energy.
At the end of your visit to the Center, take lunch (beverage excluded) at a local restaurant. After lunch you will be driven back to Coimbatore and dropped off at your hotel.行程概要出發地點
