Aragonese is the typical style of food served throughout Zaragoza, it is straightforward in flavor because of the simplicity and excellence of the products used. Such local fruits and vegetables include haricot green beans, sweet onions, asparagus, wild mushrooms and fruits like peaches, apricots, apples and pears. Due to Zaragoza's location, surrounded by vast plains of land, meat is a common accompaniment to the main dish. Understandably though, meat may not be what everyone wants which is perfectly fine because fresh fish such as salmon and trout make their way up to Zaragoza through rivers and reservoirs, making it the perfect destination for travelling foodies who are looking for plenty of options!
During your historical tour through the Old Town of Zaragoza, your local guide will take you to the most popular market in town to show you first-hand, the products from Zaragoza. After your time in the Central Market you will head to "El Tubo" neighborhood, where you will have 4 tapas and 4 drinks in a historical tapas bars! Along the way, your local guide will share with you stories about Zaragoza's culinary traditions and culture!

Manager and head guide at Foodie&Tours Zaragoza, Jorge is a passionate fooodie and adventuorous traveler. After leaving his native Zaragoza, he spent two years working and studying in Oxford, Brighton and Lincoln, followed by 5 years in Munich, Germany. Between 2016-2017, he completed a Masters Degree in Culinary Tourism at the Basque Culinary Center in San Sebastian. Jorge enjoys teaching travelers about the history, culture and foodie spots of Zaragoza and its surroundings.
