One of the 3 most important centers for Catholic pilgrims in the Christian world is Santiago de Compostela Cathedral.
Once inside the Cathedral, discover The Plateresque Cloister, is one of the most importants in Spain, in the same way of its annexes rooms such the Librery, the Chapter Room or the Treasury and Chapel of Relics. You don't miss "The Botafumeiro". This Galician word means "that lets out of smoke" and referene to the great thurible belonging to the Cathedral.
If you wish, you can embrace the Apostle Santiago, who converted the temple into one of the main pilgrimage destinations in Europe during the Middle Ages, the well-known Camino de Santiago. You will visit the Tomb of Santiago Mayor and see the decorative chapels around the main altar. You will know what is behind the Cathedral and you will discover what it means for pilgrims.
