Enjoy the relaxed ambiance of the crowd-free walled centre of Treviso, the city of Proseco wine, Porchetta trevigiana and Tiramisù. Wander around led by your local guide, walk along cobbled streets, pass medieval gates and cross the bridges upon the rivers that flow through the city.
Start from the central Piazza dei Signori with its Palazzo dei Signori, walk along a maze of alleys turning like dried-out water courses and see the ancient Roman ruins. See the massive but modest church of the Dominican order, see the architectural mix of the city with ancient buildings stuck on new ones. Stroll over the river to reach a top spot overlooking it from above in a little square surrounded by medieval buildings with frescoed façades.
Stop to start your food and wine training: make a cheers with a glass of sparkling Prosecco wine and some wonderful slices of Porchetta. Keep on going visiting the fish market area and passing through and old convent until reaching the perfectly-preserved walls that surround the city centre to see one of the most beautiful gate of the city. Along the way make another couple of reinvigorating stop with tasty food and delicious wines.
Go back towards the central square, make a 'must do' stop to a delicatessen shop to accompany wonderful cold cuts and cheeses with another glass of wine. Walk a bit more to have the sweetest experience, a nice slice of the local famous Tiramisù cake with a glass of sweet wine. We booked this tour to get an experience of Treviso and be able to sample the wines and food this area is known for. We did the evening tour so we could spend the day walking around Treviso and taking in the sights in before the tour. Its a wonderful place to take it nice and easy, relax, have a coffee and read a book. We were here in off peak season and it was great being away from the hustle and bustle of the other cities we'd been to.
Roberto was our guide and with it being outside of peak season we were the only two on the tour, which meant it felt even more like a private tour. Roberto knew the architecture of the city and it was fascinating to learn how you could tell the period in which the buildings were built. It was an interesting insight, bearing in mind the city was severely destroyed during WW2.
We visited 4 different locations, all off the beaten track and all feeling very traditional. Roberto asked us what type of wines we would like to try and did his best to match the food to it in each place. During the last place we tried the best Tiramisu we've ever had and stayed on for another drink after the tour.
Great tour, Roberto even helped to recommend places in Venice for the following day. Would highly recommend.

Roberto was a wonderful guide, and shared much of the history of Treviso with us. The stops we made provided excellent food and wine tastings, We were very pleased with the tour, and found our time with Roberto very well spent.

This was our favourite city in Italy. Our tour guide Roberto knew so much about this town, all the little back streets and the history.
An easy walk with 4 stops at local restaurants for snacks including local hams, mortadella, cheeses , prosecco and my first spritz. Willl do this again -

Tasted 3 Proseccos and one red wine. Pour was more than just a taste and ample to enjoy the accompanying food which ranged from cheese and salami plate, small sandwiches and traditional teramisu. Delicious! Roberto, our tour guide was engaging and informative. Venues were charming. Well worth the price.
