McLaren Vale boasts a spectacular mix of the old and the new set in a lush coastal location. Whether it’s the wine styles, the vineyards or the cellar doors, you’ll find McLaren Vale’s blend of tradition and innovation to be unforgettable.
Set along the Fleurieu coastline, McLaren Vale offers lush rolling vines and hill top views over the valley and to the sea. Many wineries are optimally sited to offer spectacular vistas, with picnic areas and benches for all to enjoy.
These days the vale is as much known for its newer wine styles such as Sangiovese and Barbera as it is for the more traditional Shiraz, Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon. Shiraz still accounts for 50% of the crush and for good reason. Any fan of big dry reds will love the world class Shiraz coming out of this region.
The trail makes the most of McLaren Vale’s rich and varied food offerings, and there are options to suit every taste and budget (at own expense). Whether it’s a grazing platter of local produce, fine dining, or one of the numerous cafes and bakeries in the township, there's something for everyone. This trip was very well organised and provided excellent value for money. It is the best way to enjoy some wine-tastings without having to drive, particularly if you are a solo traveler. In one trip you can spend an hour at each of four different wineries. The information provided in advance allows you to choose those wineries and plan your trip. I particularly enjoyed the sense of fun at Mollydooker and the beautiful setting at Hugh Hamilton. Our tour guide, Amber was a delight. She was able to provide advice on vineyards, places for lunch, time management etc. Best of all, Amber kept us on schedule, made us all feel welcome and promoted a comfortable atmosphere within the group.

We were picked up on schedule and on board were 3 separate groups. The driver was courteous and obliging I must say even to the point of doubling back at a few wineries to suit all our needs. Would thoroughly recommend. Nothing was an issue. Thanks guys

This is a spectacular way of visiting McLaren Vale! I cannot recommend it enough. Participants have time to visit three or four properties at a reasonably leisurely pace without driving. And since there are so many wineries to choose from, it is really a custom experience for every person. Just fantastic!
