Experience the best of the Hunter Valley on a Hunter Gatherer’s full day food and wine tour. Your knowledgeable insider guide will take you for a private tasting at 4 or 5 of the Hunter Valley’s great wineries (small, boutique and big) to sample some delicious wines, and also highlight some of the produce made in our region.
The Hunter Valley is famous for its wines, but also has a proud and thriving cottage industry that produces all sorts of other ingredients that local chefs love to use in their dishes. Olives and olive oils, cheeses, organic poultry, snails, berries, herbs, jams and pickles, and of course chocolates and much more are all produced lcoally in the Hunter Valley.
A typical itinerary for our day tour would include:
" A visit to 4 or 5 wineries. including a vineyard walk (weather permitting).
" One of the wineries visited is De Iuliis winery where your guide will conduct their famous cheese and wine experience. 9 different cheeses will be matched with 9 different wines and each booking will receive a complimentary copy of a cheese and wine matching guide to take with them as a memento of your visit
" Lunch at a table set up amongst the vines (weather permitting) consisting of a generous antipasto platter made up with locally produced cheeses, smallgoods, organic chicken, smoked trout, pickles, breads and olives. Including 1 glass of wine per person
" A brewery tour of the Hunter’s own Hunter Beer Co.
" A chocolate & wine matching experience
" Your guide knows the best locations to find you some kangaroos in the wild
You will be chauffeured in a comfortable luxury vans with maximum seating up to 14 guests. This small-group setting provides fun interactions and easy access to boutique locations.
Pick-up and drop-off will be direct to your accommodation from the following locations only, (some locations incur extra pick-up fees):

Hands down, Julie the tour guide was nothing short of Amazing. Julie really pulled the trip together and if it wasn’t for her it would of been an average wine tasting trip.

This was a well organised and enjoyable tour. The Guide/Driver was knowledgeable and friendly. Each Winery we went to had a good, organised tasting with lots of facts and education about wines and viticulture. Lunch was provided. It was pretty simple with Soup and Bread and Chicken drumsticks and cake for dessert. We had expected from the booking info it to be an Antipasto selection with cooked chicken so I was a little disappointed but overall the day was great. Would recommend, especially if you only have a weekend in the Hunter Valley.

A really worthwhile trip. My friends and I are so glad that we selected this tour. It was informative, well structured and comprehensive. I like the fact that we concentrated on boutique wineries. My friends were from the UK so it offered them an in-depth view of the Hunter and its wine industry. Our guide, Bryan was a typical Aussie, not just very friendly and relaxed but also well informed and a mine of information. I would recommend this tour to anyone.

A great day out for sampling the wine, food and beer of the Hunter Valley. It did feel rather naughty drinking your first wine at 10am on a Monday morning, but after the second glass we got into the swing of things. We visited six vineyards and one brewery at the end of the day. The lunch was great and all of the vineyards were informative and generous with their wine sampling. The highlight for me was the chocolate and wine tasting at the last vineyard. This is a great tour to do as you dont need to worry about driving as a mini bus takes you and a small select group of people from place to place as well as picking you up and dropping you off at your hotel. Overall a good day.
