After being picked up from your Byron Bay or Brunswick Heads accommodation, head to the Brunswick Heads Boat Harbour to begin your 1.5-hour eco-cruise on the Brunswick River.
Watch for native wildlife and hear about the area’s history and points of interest while you enjoy morning tea served on board with coffee, a selection of teas, hot chocolate, cold drinks, cakes, and biscuits. After the cruise, you’ll be driven to a little-known lookout that boasts a 360-degree view of Byron Bay, the Gold Coast, and the hinterland. If you’re lucky, you may spot a whale, depending on the season.
Another short drive takes you to the coastal sub-tropical rainforest, where your guide leads you on an easy walk through the forest to the mouth of the Brunswick River; look for dolphins and watch surfers riding waves before enjoying lunch. Then take a scenic drive through the hinterland via the small town of Mullumbimby to visit Crystal Castle, where you’ll spend about 2.5 hours exploring the gardens, ‘magical’ crystals, gift shop, and cafe. You can take a walk with your guide or stroll around at your leisure.
Finally, head into Byron Bay, enjoying the drive along the coast, and visit its popular lighthouse. Walk to Australia's most easterly point (optional), look for dolphins and turtles in the water, and learn about this favorite vacation destination from your guide. End your tour on a high note with a tasting of local foods and a possible viewing of the sunset, depending on the time of year.
