The stage has been set, by the Great Smokys National Park. You'll meet your Interpretive Guide inside The Great Smokys National Park, at The Sugarland's Visitor Center parking lot. From there, attendees will caravan four miles to another area in the park called; Elkmont. Once there, for two hours or so, your entertaining, and knowledgeable guide, will walk through the 20 plus remaining structures, and recalling facts and stories, that will take you back in time, to the early 1900's. While strolling through the streets and cabins, you'll be able to touch, and feel remaining artifacts, and if you listen carefully, you may hear the jubilant echos of the past. There were two Social Clubs, and 40 plus cabins, which were once packed with summer partyers, steam trains, and loggers, making this little town at one time very vibrant, loud, and alive with activity Many of the cabin owners were Knoxville socialites, who mixed it up with the local mountain folk, at the ball field, swimming hole, and Hotel, where moonshine flowed as swiftly as the nearby Little River. Of course, fishing was a common activity, as well as Sunday celebrations, complete with a barn-storming Bi-Plane Pilot by the name of "Rooster", who crashed his plane unceremoniously, while showing off for the crowd. After the tour, you can take advantage of being in the vicinity of some of the best hiking trails in the area, such as The Little River Trail, Jakes Creek, and others. You'll have the option of spending the rest of your day, in the peaceful serene setting this old town offers, hearing only the pleasant melody of the roaring Little River.行程概要出發地點
