What to expect:
One-of-a-Kind Food Tastings - Our guided Historic Boise Food & Cultural Tour is curated by our Special Advisor Victor Scargle who is an award winning chef & currently is the Executive Chef at the Culinary Institute of America's COPIA location in Napa, CA. This tour visits 6 or more Boise food tasting locations located in the Old Boise Historic District and Central Downtown. Delicious food samplings, enough for a hearty meal, are served from iconic specialty food stores and one-of-a-kind eateries. Stops may include places such as the historic Basque Market, the Boise Farmers Market, BACON, and Best of Boise 2015 restaurant winners. All food tastings are included in the ticket price. Historic & Cultural Experiences - Between tastings, you'll experience the life of a Idahoan as you stroll the beautiful tree lined streets decorated with art commissioned by the Downtown Art group. This was a lovely experience, well balanced with season-inspired bruschetta, Thai rolls, olive oil tasting, chocolate, and more. Evangel was a great guide, well informed and enthused. We learned about local architecture and the state capital, and Freak Alley, full of outdoor murals. It was a fun time, and we picked several items for hostess gifts from the local shops.

The food was excellent, tour guide Angela was very informative and entertaining, variety was nice.

Angela Taylor proposes a new and so necessary tour. She prepared and presented the tour very professionally. She came in time and kept us busy all 3 hours, introducing 7 different places, telling about their owners, ways how they created their special foods and drinks, and showing the cultural sites of Boise's downtown. She loves, knows Boise and tries to shares her knowledge and attitude with her audience. She supplies her guests with necessary things: like sanitizer, water bottle, tour booklet with coupons and a bag to care any purchases. The pace of the tour is comfortable and easy for anybody. Angela speaks loudly and clearly enough to follow her. We had time to make pictures and make friends with the members of our group. The tour was planned smartly, with progressively increasing our appetite and filling it: from appetizers, like a part of sandwich, toward full meals and ending with deserts. At the same time, we were not overwhelmed with food, we just felt ourselves good. All food samples were delicious and some were new for us. We want to visit those places again. The most impressive for us was Bacon: Breakfast Bistro. We really enjoyed the tour and will recommend it to anyone whod like to know downtown Boise better, indulge its themes and have a great time.
It would be nice to have more tours like this and in the different places in Idaho. -
The tour was great and the tour guide was outstanding. We enjoyed learning about the history of downtown Boise and sampling the culinary treats of the local restaurants. I would recommend this tour to my friends.
