Day 1 Sunday
Upon arrival in Istanbul you will be transferred to Wyndham Old City Hotel. Remainder of the day is at your leisure.
Day 2 Monday, Exotic Old City Istanbul Walking Tour
After Breakfast, you will meet your guide at 9:00AM in the hotel lobby to begin your walking city tour of exotic city of Istanbul. You will tour the Blue Mosque, famous for its blue Iznik tiles, Next is the Topkapi Palace, the seat of the Ottoman Empire for over 400 years. Your final stop is exotic Grand Bazaar with its 4000 shops.
Day 3 Tuesday - Istanbul
Full day at your leisure in Istanbul. OR join our optional Exotic Spice Bazaar & Bosphorus Cruise Tour
Day 4 Wednesday Istanbul - Cappadocia (A UNESCO World Heritage Site)
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Istanbul airport for a short flight to Cappadocia, upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to Kaya Uchisar. Remainder of the day is at your leisure.
Day 5 Thursday - Cappadocia
After breakfast, explore mysterious rock-carved churches with dazzling wall decorations at the Goreme Open Air Museum, and tour the Zelve Open-Air Museum. Next, visit the potters of Avanos, whose skillful craft and time-honored tradition of using the clay from the banks of the Kizilirmak (red River) is over 5,000 years in the making. In the afternoon, tour the marvelous underground city of rock-carved subterranean tunnels, hallways, sleeping cells and chapels at Ozkonak underground city. Enjoy a lecture on the tradition and art of weaving in Turkey from the Goreme Village Weavers Association before returning to your hotel.
Day 6 Friday - Cappadocia
Full day at your leisure in Cappadocia. OR join our optional Cappadocia Valley Tour
Depart your hotel at 10AM, visit Uchisar, situated at the highest point in Cappadocia this rock-hewn Byzantine fortress offers a magnificent panorama with Mount Erciyes in the distance. Continue to underground city of Kaymakli, there are 36 troglodyte cave cities in Cappadocia and the largest is Kaymakli, a must-see for visitors, with 8 stories, nearly 20 miles of tunnels, and reaching 85 meters (90 yards) underground to the water table.
Afternoon, visit Sinassos, Greek Orthodox families lived in Sinassos, City of the Sun, until Turkey’s war of Independence in the early 20th century.Visit the Churches of Aios Vasilos
Day 7 Saturday Cappadocia - Istanbul
