Leave your central Istanbul hotel in the early morning for your transfer to Istanbul airport. Board your flight to Kayseri International Airport and, on arrival, travel to Cappadocia by air-conditioned minivan.
After roughly 1.5 hours, arrive at Rose Valley, so named for its rose-colored rocks that change hue through the day. Enjoy a leisurely walk in this beautiful valley, passing its mushroom-shaped fairy chimneys, jagged peaks, and leafy vineyards and orchards. On route, visit the valley’s cave churches, some dating back to the 8th or 9th centuries, and listen to tales of how they were used by early monks.
Next, visit ‘old’ avu_in, an abandoned rock village known for its old Christian churches and houses. Take photos of the eerie houses, and gaze at the Basilica of St John the Baptist that sits on a cliff high above the village.
Stop for lunch at a local restaurant (see the Itinerary for a sample menu) and then Zelve into the town of Ortahisar, to view its crowning glory, Ortahisar Castle. Marvel at this unique 295-foot (90-meter) high fortress, with its honeycomb of rock caves carved during Byzantine times. Explore some of the burrowed-out chambers and storage rooms and soak up the panoramic views of the town below.
Drive to Kaymakli Underground City, one of the best-preserved in Cappadocia. Roam this subterranean network of homes, stables, cellars and kitchens and learn how it was used by early Christians to escape persecution.
Next, visit Pigeon Valley, known for its pigeon houses carved from the cliffs and rocks. Ogle the spectacular dovecotes and learn how the locals used to house their pigeons here to farm their droppings for fertilizer, and later, return to Kayseri Airport for your flight to Istanbul. Your tour ends with a hotel drop-off this evening.

Awesome experience! It was so nice to have a look at the fairy caves. We enjoyed a personalized and well-documented tour. Got to Cappadocia on time and visited main places. All in one day!! If you will spend a few days in Istanbul and want to have a taste of nature don't hesitate booking a tour to Cappadocia!

One of the best experiences I had. This visit is highly recommended. The history of Cappadocia is amazing as well as the natural formations. If you like nature and history, do not miss this trip. Capadocia has been the highlight of my trip to Turkey. The guide was outstanding Be prepared to walk and to hike a bit just a bit. A must.

The trip begins with an early morning flight from Istanbul to Kayseri where we were picked up by an van for a 60 minute drive to Cappadocia. This region is absolutely beautiful, with incredible geological formations and the historic, and lovely, cave churches. Our guide Hafiz was excellent. He was very interesting and had extensive knowledge of the region's geology and history. We also had a very delicious lunch at a cave restaurant and visited a ceramics factory.

Incredible experience hiking in the 'Red Rose Valley' and the 'Kaymakli Underground Museum' was so heartfelt learning about the history. The landscape and breathtaking views of 'Ortahisar' were simply amazing.
The lunch was at a old Cave and it was brilliant the way the place was set up. Really added to the experience.Hafiz our guide was brilliant he was very informative and left nothing out. He also answered every question he was asked. Full of knowledge and an amazing guide. He was polite and always kept us in the loop for everything we were doing and had planned to do. His love and admiration for his home town Cappadocia was heartfelt.
Highly recommend this tour as Cappadocia has so much to offer. Such an amazing experience! -
I took this tour a year ago but it was worth it. I do recommend it. Everything was organized great and on time for a one day excursion.
