Meet your guide in the morning with pickup from your hotel, and hop in your air-conditioned minivan for a full day of shopping. You’re supplied with a name tag, an eco-friendly shopping bag, mosquito repellent, candies, and a brochure.
Then be whisked away to up to eight chosen retail or wholesale outlets, spending about an hour at each location. Your in-the-know guide checks out Phuket’s latest trends and popular shopping venues ahead of time, arranging logistics so you don’t have to do the groundwork.
While the list of stops is subject to change, rest assured that you’ll find a fantastic variety of goods, including clothes, shoes, housewares, traditional Thai products and souvenirs. Whether your search is for name-brand sportswear, leather goods and accessories, or you’ve promised to send home local textiles and art, the options are endless.
Outlets include the Lemongrass House, with a wide selection of scented creams, oils and other eco-friendly skin products that are locally made and used by 5-star hotels. Then it’s off to the massive Premium Outlet on Bypass Road, with a wide range of genuine brand-name goods at low prices.
Toko Grosir offers its own sliding scale of discounted prices on T-shirts and beachwear. Then continue to Jatujak, a shop with a marvelous collection of gifts, original clothing, spa products and natural health supplements.
Take a break for a traditional Thai lunch at a breezy hilltop restaurant with breathtaking views of Phuket Town. Enjoy sensational Thai specialties including monster prawns in sweet sauce, chicken satay, Thai omelets, chicken in pandan leaves, and crab in garlic pepper, among other dishes. After lunch, meet the local monkeys and soak up some history before returning to the minivan.
Your next stop may be a covered, air-conditioned market to browse through fashion shoes, luggage, sunglasses and handbags. Next is Jim Thompson, a silk shop where bolts of brightly colored silk vie with handmade silk products and clothing. Finally, spend time at Rich Home & Decor, an astonishing emporium filled to the ceiling with traditional Thai products, original artwork and furniture, striking souvenirs, clothes, jewelry and more.
