With 36 Wats within the old city walls and many more in the surrounding countryside, this private Chiang Mai temples tour will leave you fascinated.
Near the summit of Doi Suthep, a 5300 feet peak named after the hermit Sudeva who lived on the mountain's slopes for many years, is the 600 year old temple of Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep. After a drive up the mountain's winding road, the final climb to the site is via an enormous mythological Nagas (Dragon-headed serpent) staircase of 306 steps. On a clear day, there are incomparable views over the city of Chiang Mai from the temple grounds.
Wat Chedi Luang temple consist of an impressive chedi, originally built in 1411. It reached a height of over 278 feet before it was partially destroyed by an earthquake in 1545. It now reaches a height of 196 feet. The temple also contains the city pillar. Statue in small shelters surrounding this building are the home of guardian spirits.行程概要出發地點

Good tour overall. Our guide was really knowledgeable and shared a lot of background and a lot of details. The downside was that his English wasn't great. We were able to communicate and we learned a lot, but it took a lot of effort to understand all of the details.
We had a private tour, with just me, my wife, the guide and a driver. That was really nice.

Waste of money. Our guide was disinterested and not informative. She was more interested in trying to take us to factories where we would buy things instead of bringing us to the temples and educating us about the city.

Very informative guide. You get to see a few improvement temples (one of which is on top of a mountain) and hear about the rich history of Chiang Mai.

This was such an excellent tour and our guide, Noi, was amazing! She taught us all about Thai culture and traditions and was very passionate about ensuring we learned the history. She took us to 3 sites and we loved visiting and hearing about the history of each location. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Chiang Mai! You will get an in-depth background on the sites you are seeing and learn so much more then if you went by yourself. Noi was so sweet and even showed us how to write our names in Thai! We will always remember this tour and everything we learned from Noi. Thank you!
