After a drive up the mountain's winding road, the final climb to the site is via an enormous mythological Nagas (Dragon-headed serpent) staircase of 306 steps. On a clear day, there are incomparable views over the city of Chiang Mai from the temple grounds.
Wat Chedi Luang consists of an impressive chedi, originally built in 1411. It reached a height of over 278 feet before it was partially destroyed by an earthquake in 1545. It now reaches a height of 196 feet. The temple also contains the city pillar. Statue in small shelters surrounding this building are the home of guardian spirits.行程概要出發地點

The tour guide was fantastic. She spoke English very well and had a real passion to share her knowledge. The trip was a real insight into Thai culture and the significance of the temples. The half day was a good amount of time. Overall really enjoyable and I’d highly recommend.

I had a really good time, the tour guide was perfect. We even had time to speak with some monks :) The temples are beautiful and the guide was explaining thailand culture as well. I really recommend this tour.

We had an excellent tour guide! Went above and beyond to show us temples and explain things. Only down side is the hour trip to Doi Suthep. Wat Chedi Luang and the grounds really nice and it’s not super crowded towards the end of the day.

We arrived in Chiang Mai the previous afternoon. We visited three Wats and had an enjoyable tour.Sunny our guide was very pleasant and knowledgable. He was also very easy to get on with.

A good tour, but our guide did not have good English. Traffic coming back into Chiang Mai slowed us down.

This tour was OK. The guide didn't seem to know much English and had difficulty answering our questions. The temples were good but would have been improved by a better guide. It is good that it was a short tour.

The tour guide didnt have much to say, was very quiet and had poor English. It was just me and my sister on this tour and after giving us some brief info he let us walk around freely whilst he waited for us. I felt like I would have liked a bit more background info. Pick up and drop off were on time. The driver managed the conditions on the mountain fine but drove a bit fast at times. The sites themselves were good but explanations were very brief.
