Switzerland Countryside and Traditions Tour from Zurich (Day 1)
Your countryside day trip is limited to 16 people, ensuring a more personalized experience. Board a coach at the Sihlquai Bus Terminal and take a panoramic drive along Lake Zurich. Your first stop is the world-famous Lindt factory outlet shop ─ heaven for chocolate lovers!
Continue to the picturesque region of Appenzell, the perfect place to experience Swiss country life. In the village of Stein, visit a local cheese factory to learn about the traditional methods of Swiss cheese making.
Next up is the actual village of Appenzell. On arrival, enjoy around three hours of free time to shop, eat or perhaps visit the Appenzell Museum for a glimpse into Swiss traditions, history and customs (own expense). Then, meet back up with your guide at the prearranged time for a guided walk through town. Follow your guide to the town square, where elections are still publicly debated by show of hands.
Relax on the scenic route back to Zurich in the evening.
Zurich Highlights Tour (Day 2)
Your 2-hour morning or afternoon sightseeing tour begins at the Sihlquai Bus Terminal. Aboard a coach, listen as your guide points out Zurich’s must-see attractions (multilingual audio guide available if needed).
Ride down the Bahnhofstrasse, one of the most expensive and exclusive shopping streets in the world, and cruise through Zurich Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site that takes you back to medieval times.
See the National Museum, Zurich Opera House and St Peter's Church, and stop for photos of Lake Zurich before boarding the Dolderbahn cogwheel train to the Zurichberg district. Here, see where Albert Einstein studied and admire the impressive Chagall windows of Fraum□nster church.
