Hop aboard your air-conditioned minivan in central Lucerne and journey out into the countryside to begin your tour.
Stop At: Kambly Erlebnis
As you travel, listen as your guide talks of the region’s rich history and culture and enjoy stunning views of the scenic Entlebuch Valley ─ an area of unspoilt moorlands and Alpine pasture designated a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
Head through Trubschachen in the Upper Emmental Valley and admire classic Swiss Alpine scenery such as crystal-clear streams and soaring, snow-capped mountains. Stop at the Kambly Experience ─ one of Switzerland’s biggest biscuit producers ─ and discover how the sweet treats are made. Enjoy a tasting session and sample several different biscuit varieties for yourself.

Continue on to the UNESCO World Heritage city of Bern, the medieval capital of Switzerland. With pretty, red-roofed buildings and cobbled streets, Bern is considered by many to be Switzerland’s most attractive city.
Explore Bern’s ancient Old Town with your guide and discover picturesque local landmarks including the 328-foot (100-meter) spire of Bern Minster. Discover top city attractions such as the imposing parliament building and the clock tower, and enjoy beautiful views over the Aare River. Afterward, enjoy a little free time in Bern to eat lunch (own expense) or shop for souvenirs.

Stop At: Emmentaler Schaukaeserei, Affoltern im Emmental, Canton of Bern
Back aboard your minivan, continue into the heart of Emmental, a patchwork of lush pastureland and traditional dairy farms nestled deep in the Swiss countryside. Visit an Emmental dairy with your guide and watch as the various ingredients are worked over by hand, and discover how Emmentaler AOP is made. At the end of your tour, sample some of deliciously nutty cheese before departing for Lucerne, where your tour concludes.

A shorter time at the cheese factory and the biscuit factory would be helpful to extend the time in Bern. Overall it was well organized and the guide, Martin, was wonderful as well as knowledgable and interesting.

This was a fantastic compliment to our mountain tours. The area was beautiful with some touring and some free time. Loved it.

It was my first time in Switzerland and this tour was a good experience to see more of Switzerland. The directions to the meeting point was clear and straightforward and my group and I were picked up on time. I can't remember the name of our tour guide, but he was an excellent driver and the ride was comfortable. Our first stop was the Kambley factory, which was a delicious surprise . While there, my group and I were able to sample their cookies/crackers and make our purchases- our stomachs were more happy getting back in the bus to continue our trip we're foodies. Bern was fun. We got to see the house where Einstein lived during his stay in Switzerland along with the clocktower down the street that inspired his theory of relativity, which was awesome! We didn't get to go inside the house though I think it's a museum now because we were just walking by so that was a downside. We did however, see the clock tower in action. After our guided tour in the city, we had some free time. My group and I took that time to grab some lunch and try local foods like fondue, racklette, and rosti. Definitely try these local cuisine if you're in the country! The second part of the trip was ok for me. We went to a cheese factory and saw how cheese was made. There was also an old cheese house with tools from the past and we briefly learned how they made cheese back in the day, but there wasn't an actual demonstration. The dairy visit was fine, but I felt like my group and I could've used more time in Bern and less time at the dairy visit. Overall, the experience was good- the drive was scenic, which I like I love nature, and Bern was my enjoyable. We also could've used more guidance on where to go, what to see, where to eat in Bern from our tour guide, but my group and I managed. I had a good time in the end, so I would say give this tour a try, but just be mindful there's some changes that need to be made to make it great.

This was a great tour. First they were on time in picking us up at the meeting point outside the train station in Lucerne and the ride was comfortable. Our first stop was the Kambley factory which my group thoroughly enjoyed. We are big foodies and having free samples everywhere before buying the goodies was aweomse. I have to say, we may have had one too many samples but we didn't leave empty handed. During our ride to the Kambley factory and Bern, our guide I cannot remember his name was very informative and talked about the local culture. He also took the scenic route when we were going to the cheese factory which allowed for some very nice pictures. We were able to explore Bern on our own after his guided tour, but I wish we had more time to do so. He pointed out some fascinating facts like where Albert Einstein live during his stay in Bern and how the clock tower inspired him to develop the theory of relativity. During our free time we were able to try the local cuisine- racklette, rosti, and some fondue! The cheese factory was okay, and seeing a very old cheese house was unique but I felt like we spent too much time there. Aside from that, it was a great tour and I would recommend it to anyone.
