Example half-day city tour itinerary:
Meet your tour guide at your pre-arranged time and place, probably your hotel in Interlaken. The train journey starts from Interlaken Ost along the lake of Thun, After 20 minutes we change onto the local train in direction of Zweisimmen. The train ride takes 45 minutes through the "Simmental"-valley, along the pre-alpine mountains and passing lovely typical farmer houses. At Zweisimmen, the Golden Pass panoramic train awaits us. This train has panoramic coaches only, upon availability we try to reserve the VIP-seats in front, where you have a view like the train driver.
The Golden Pass train departs climbing up in direction of Gstaad, a world known destination surrounded by local mountains. See the typical Swiss chalet style, houses must be built with wood!. During the first part of our panoramic travel, complimentary drinks and snacks can be purchased at your seat. We're almost leaving the canton "Bern", heading to the french part of Switzerland. After a short climb through a rough area, the train passes the "Jor"-tunnel, the connection between North and South. After leaving the tunnel, you'll have stunning views to the lake of Geneva, while the train is descending slowly to Montreux. After two hours we'll arrive at "the french riviera", where palm trees are placed at the lake.
We'll have lunch in Montreux lakeside, to enjoy the view in direction of french alpine mountains.
A afternoon walk around through Montreux concludes the tour, we're heading Lausanne by train. The train passes the vineyard terraces of "Lavaux", a region belonging to UNESCO world heritage site. At Lausanne, we change the train again and travel through the region of "Fribourg", along local hills, farmer stations and cows. The tour concludes when arriving at Interlaken.行程概要出發地點
