Your day trip begins with the pickup from your hotel lobby in or near Sighisoara.
We will proceed to Biertan formerly known as Birth lm, a pittoresque village placed in the heart of Wine Region of Transylvania listed by UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 1993. The Church of Biertan was the see of the Lutheran Evangelical Bishops of Transylvania between 1572 and 1867 and maybe this was the reason why Saxons built here the strongest fortified church of Transylvania.
The next stop will be in Malancrav, a beautiful Saxon village centered on a timeless atmosphere the natural beauty, the peace and the unique vernacular architecture made Prince Charles to fell in love with this place and to come back here at least twice a year. We will visit the local Saxon Fortified Church dating back since 1350, the only one in Transylvania to still preserve it`s intact original medieval frescoes inside. Another highlight will be Apafi Manor a famous noble house of Transylvania built by the Hungarian princely family, Apafi, probably in the 15th century, nowadays in the property of Mihai Eminescu Trust patronized by Prince`s Charles. It is rumored that William and Kate spent a short holiday here.
We will continue our tour with a visit of Braite Plateau, the biggest woodpasture of Europe, maybe the last example of a culturally modified forest on the continent, home of over 600 ancient oaks, many of them over 700 years old. Here you will see the oldest tree in Transylvania, aged over 800 years old.
Our final destination will be Sighisoara where I will give you the tour of the Medieval Fortified City, all the symbols of the city, such as: The Clock tower, Church on the Hill, the house where Vlad Tepes was born and all the rest of it will be presented to you from a local authentic perspective. I will show you some places and tell you some enlightening stories and local legends, that are not mentioned in Lonely Planet nor other travel book.
In the end I will give you some general and some customized tips as I don’t want you to enjoy just the time we spend together, but your entire stay in Transylvania or Romania.行程概要出發地點
