Bran Castle is known also as Dracula’s Castle. The imposing construction watches over a valley from its strategic position. It was originally built as a fortress on the former border between Wallachia and Transylvania. The function of this medieval landmark is evident from its grandiose towers as well as its winding narrow staircases and passages. Besides this, the added Gothic look makes the castle seem like the ideal hiding place for all sorts of mysteries. Together with your guide you shall discover the connection between the legendary ruler, Vlad the Impaler, and the infamous vampire Count Dracula.
The town of Brasov, best known by its German name Kronstadt retains its German medieval charm with the help of its well kept historical center filled with centuries old still inhabited houses connected by small streets paved with cobblestone. On a walking tour of this lovely town you will start at the main square to admire the old City Hall with its clock tower, the monumental Gothic Black Church, the walls around the former citadel, the two watch towers up the hill and the narrowest street in Europe.
Peles Castle is set in Sinaia, one of the most scenic mountain resorts, called by many “The Pearl of the Carpathians”, this was the Romanian Royal Family’s former summer residence, a magnificent palace in the style of the German Renaissance.
