The historic centre of vora is a Unesco World Heritage site, this museum-city, whose roots go back to Roman times, reached its golden age in the 15th century, when it became the residence of the Portuguese kings.
Itinerary:
- Departure at 8h30 from Lisbon by the 25 de Abril Bridge
- Your visit begins in the city centre in Geraldo Square. The square was named after Giraldo, or “Gerald the Fearless” who seized the city from the Moors in the 12th century.
- Roman Temple - (The temple is regarded as the best preserved Roman structure on the Iberian Peninsula)
- Chapel of Bones . (16th century chapel within the walls are the bones of over 5,000 skeletons)
- S□ Cathedral . (It is the largest of the mediaeval cathedrals in Portugal, and one of its best examples of Gothic architecture)
