Hilly, seaside Lisbon, the seat of empire for centuries, may be one of the most underrated capitals in Europe. It’s also one of the most eye-pleasing. The signs of its long and intriguing history are everywhere. This 4-hour, private guided shore excursion takes you to the most important sites and neighborhoods of the Portuguese capital.
After pickup at the port, hop in the comfortable minivan and head first to the city’s cathedral, the oldest building in Lisbon. Called Santa Maria Maior de Lisboa or S□ de Lisboa, the cathedral was built during the Romanesque architecture period and later renovated in the Gothic and Baroque periods. From there, head up to Gra a, the highest neighborhood in the city, for expansive views of Lisbon. Drive through the neighborhood of Alfama, the birthplace of fado music, and then explore Bel□m, the neighborhood that, centuries past, saw many famous explorers, including Vasco da Gama, set sail to find new worlds and new treasures.
After seeing the Monastery of Jer□nimos, the Bel□m Tower and the Discoveries Monument, taste the delicious and world-famous traditional pastel de Belem, an custard tart invented at the Monastery of Jer□nimos and introduced to the outside world in the early 19th century.
Pass by the Basilica of Estrela and the Chiado district, stroll around Baixa, the downtown, and stroll in some of the city’s most stunning squares: Rossio, Figueira and Restauradores. Next, try a glass of vinho verde ─ literally ‘green wine,’ it is meant to be drunk while young and fresh ─ and a cod cake, a savory delight that is a favorite in this part of Europe. Finish the tasting with a glass of Portugal’s most famous wine, port, paired with cheese. At the end of the tour, you’ll be dropped off at the port.

Another excellent tour around Lisbon viewing our favourite sights and sampling the wonderful food and drink. Had 2 tour guides....both named John to prevent any confusion who were very friendly and knowledgeable, would definitely recommend this Company and their staff

Vlad was great. He has a great knowledge of Portugal and is a lot of fun to be with. We enjoyed our time with him and wish we could have spent a full day instead of only 5 hours. Private tour was great. Great tour guide John, very knowledgeable, showed us all of the highlights if Lisbon. Opted out of the wine tasting, so John dropped us off in town for some shopping.

The four of us had a wonderful half day tour of Lisbon with our local guide, Harald. He knows the city inside out and gave us a nice balance of history with the local vibe of the city. The food and wine tastings were a worthwhile addition. I asked that he show us a nice place for lunch to end the tour and he did not disappoint, even getting us past the lineup due tot his friendship with the owner. Bloked with locals and a wonderful meal. Great tour!
