Experience a 3-hour trip by catamaran along the south coast of Madeira Island. We depart from Funchal Marina, giving a quick briefing about the trip and safety matters on board. The crew then starts their search for dolphins and whales, and any other marine wildlife, using binoculars equipped with a compass, doing their best with their experienced eyes. During the summer months, there is the possibility to swim in the crystal clear waters below Cabo Gir o if the conditions are good, one of the highest sea cliffs in the world at 580m (1903 ft) in altitude.
During the trip, our qualified crew will give you detailed information about the species of cetaceans you are seeing as well as other technical and historic information to ensure a complete and unique experience.
Since we are dealing with wildlife, there are times that you could end up the trip with no sightings. In the event of no sightings of cetaceans (dolphins or whales), you will be offered with a complimentary trip to go again on an alternative occasion (valid for 1 year since travel date).行程概要出發地點

I would recommend this trip. Although the Catamaran was quite large and there were a lot of people on the trip, we got to see Dolphins and a Sea Turtle. There is a bar and toilets on board and we also got to stop off for a swim.

Great tour. We didn't see any whales, but two different kind of dolphins. And once we have spotted the dolphins the dedication ceased to look for whales, unfortunately.

The tour was really great and well organized. We had several dolphin sightings. The amenities on board were good and the bartender made the best Poncha which is the local Madiera drink -- highly recommended! Having a photographer on board was a great touch.

Was a good and relaxing trip on the ocean. You get to see the whole Island from the water and get some great photo opportunities. We were lucky and got to see some dolphins and whales but honestly you see the animals from quiet a distance as the boats are not allowed to approach the animals. You barely get to see their dorsal fins. Overall it makes for a nice trip. Enjoy!!!!!

This is a nice option for those who have already explored Funchal on foot and want something different. Our catamaran was a large double-decker boat with plenty of seating and a lower-deck netted area for those wishing to be closer to the water and spray. We traveled by motor and not by sail. The catamaran wasn't full, but there were more people than I expected. There were guides on each level, but they were mostly dolphin-watching and didn't interact with us much. We did find two groups of different varieties of dolphin and lingered about as long as the dolphins wanted to interact with us. The first part of the trip was mainly to find the sealife, and the return trip hugged the coastline, where we learned about the local beaches, terrace farming, and economy via an English-speaking guide over an intercom. This cruise company is very eco-conscious and told us what they do particularly to respect the sealife and environment.
