Spend three days in the Amazon Jungle on this exciting Iquitos adventure! You'll be picked up at the Iquitos International Airport and whisked away to the Heliconia Lodge by speedboat on an approximately 1.5-hour ride. Located on the Amazon River, Heliconia Lodge is where you'll sleep and eat all your meals. Your three days in Iquitos will be busy, yet fun! Hike into the Yanamono Reserve, cruise down the Amazon River, enjoy early-morning bird watching, visit a small riverside town, interact with locals, spot native tropical wildlife and more!

Day 1:
Arrive at the Iquitos International Airport, where you'll be escorted by your professional guide to a speedboat at Bella Vista Port. As you make your way to Heliconia Lodge, observe the impressive waters of both the Amazon and Nanay rivers. Stop by a native riverside community, where you'll have the opportunity to see the locals’ way of life and hear about their customs and culture.
Arrive at the lodge after a 1.5-hour boat ride. Settle into your room and get ready for your first Amazon excursion: a 2-hour jungle hike into the Yanamono Reserve. Spot native plants, including heliconia flowers and the white silk-cotton trees, as you follow your expert guide through this rainforest reserve. Head back to the lodge for some free time before admiring a stunning Amazon sunset. Then, enjoy a delicious dinner at the lodge before heading out for an exciting night cruise along the Amazon River!
Note: arrival flights must arrive before 8am for transportation
Day 2:
Wake up early for a bird-watching tour. Take a boat ride on one of several streams, where you’ll spot exotic birds including tukis and black-collared hawks. Then, return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast before taking a fishing trip on the Amazon River. You'll be taken into a small tributary of the Amazon River, and even have the chance to fish for piranhas! Keep an eye out for the famous pink river dolphins as you cruise along the river.
In the afternoon, head back to the lodge for lunch before visiting a lake at Yanamono Island, where you'll see giant water lilies. Enjoy a delicious dinner at the lodge and then venture into the jungle for a nature hike. See tarantulas, fireflies, bats and many other nocturnal animals.
Day 3:
On your last day at Heliconia Lodge, visit a rustic sugarcane distillery after breakfast. Sample exotic beverages made from sugarcane liquors and see the process behind these delicious drinks. Return to the lodge for lunch and enjoy convenient transportation back to Iquitos to catch your return flight.

Very very interesting trip to see the amazon river , best food and lodge.

This tour was everything they said it would be. The lodge was good, rooms were clean and spacious.Plenty of self service food and service was friendly. One warning for the ladies do not wear black tight trousers, the mossies can bite through them. Loose clothes are a must. Make sure you have a chat with the Titi monkey at the rescue center he is very special!. It is worth staying for a few days in Iquitos and taking in the atmosphere. Explore the colonial rubber history in the museum.The involvement of Dunlop and Goodyear. It is also worth a visit to the restored river boat plus a visit to the mannatee and animal rescue center,

Fabulous tour! The lodge was beautiful and had incredible food. They kept us busy with activities : I'd recommend bringing some clothes or toys to donate! You will make some kids/people very, very happy.

Where to even begin... firstly, all the transfers were very smooth, no hassles. Those of us who were early into Iquitos for the lodge transfer were given an extra paid option to go see the market and the floating houses. Then the lodge was absolutely fantastic - clean, spacious, and right on the edge of the rainforest. The food was amazing too. Although there is no internet reception even if you have a data plan on your phone, there is phone reception for emergencies. It was nice to disconnect! All of the excursions were well-planned and well-executed, and our guide, Dik, was very friendly and knowledgeable. My favourites were the night boat, day hike, and the fishing trip. The only things I'd recommend for people taking this trip is to bring and use liberally the strongest insect repellent that you can find, as well as a bandana to protect your neck. If you have rubber boots, bring them don't bring hiking boots. All the staff at Heliconia were professional and helpful, and I would highly recommend this trip to anyone wanting to go to the Amazon!

Very exciting experience. Modern accommodations for the room, dining, pool, etc. Also a nice taste of the jungle with the rooms right on the edge of the forest. The activities are spaced nicely apart, so there is down time to just relax and take it in. Not a primatve lodge like some others. Bring picaridin wipes for the mosquitos in the evening, and sunscreen for midday. Electricity was on for at least 6 hours everyday generator. Our guide for the 3 days was Victor, and he was top notch. Completely bi-lingual, thoroughly enjoys the river and jungle, and very knowledgeable. Keeps everyone perfectly safe. Bring extra soles peruvian dollars 3:1 US to buy souvenirs at the local native village and don't inhale after you've loaded the blowdart, you'll see what I mean. And take care of the staff at the end, they take care of everything for three days. Gratuity is separate for the guide and the lodge staff. They have boots and rain ponchos there. Hopefully the pics load.

The trip is utterly amazing. If you only have limited time, it is the best Amazon Jungle trip for a snapshot experience.

This tour was amazing!!! I highly recommend it. The service was amazing and the tour guide was very helpful. The lodge was very beautiful and clean. It was a very relaxing plus adventurous trip! I'm definitely planning on going back, but planning on staying longer than 3 days.

I cant say enough great things about this adventure!!!! It was an awesome lodge located on the amazon. We started by stopping at monkey island, which was delightful. We got to experience all different kinds of monkeys and help with the support them by donating for food and medicines. Next stop was the lodge, which even had a beautiful pool. The staff certainly keeps you busy with hikes, boat trips to see the pink dolphins and fishing for piranhas, visiting local villages, both day and night. The meals were cooked to perfection and the fresh fish was the best!!! Our guide, Freddy, was so passionate and informative about everything. He was born in a nearby village, along with others on the staff. The rooms/huts were comfortable and didn't even mind the power being off at certain times of the day/night. We met some very interesting and fun travelers that stay the same time we did and learned a lot from them that we used for the rest of our trip. I would highly recommend this adventure for other travelers!!!! We love, love loved it!!!!
