Day 1: MarrakechCheck in to your hotel in the Gu□liz neighborhood and, time permitting, head out to explore Marrakech at your leisure. Widely considered one of Morocco’s most exciting cities, Marrakech is a feast for the senses.Perhaps head to the colorful markets to see the many spices, carpets, food and other goods on sale. Choose from an array of notable Marrakech monuments and landmarks, from Koutoubia Mosque to the tucked-away tropical gardens of the French painter Jacques Majorelle.Don't miss fascinating Old Town, where potters, carpet sellers, woodworkers, spice merchants and leatherworkers all ply their trade inside the ancient city walls.Overnight: 1- to 2-star hotel in MarrakechDay 2: Marrakech ─ Aremd (B, L, D)Start your day with breakfast and an orientation to learn the finer details of your trip and meet other like-minded travelers in your group. Then travel out of Marrakech and across the plains toward the ancient mountainside marketplace of Tahanaoute. Watch the landscape change as you travel from flat grounds to the rugged hills and snowcapped peaks of the High Atlas mountains.Arrive in the village of Imlil and walk the remaining hour or so to your base: a traditional Berber house in the village of Aremd, some 6,561 feet (2,000 meters) above sea level. In the afternoon, take a walk around the area and capture the scenery on camera.
Overnight: 1- to 2-star g te in Aremd
Day 3: Aremd (B, L, D)After breakfast, explore your surroundings further on a morning and afternoon walk into the mountains with your guide. The High Atlas region boasts lush valleys, soaring peaks and ideal terrain, providing you with some spectacular views. The full day's walking time lasts for roughly 6.5 hours but you'll have a chance to stop and catch your breath when you break for lunch. Speak to your guide if you want to do a little more or less! Enjoy an evening with your group and prepare for the start of your hike to the summit of Toubkal mountain tomorrow.Overnight: 1- to 2-star g te in AremdDay 4: Aremd ─ Toubkal ─ Neltner (B, L, D)Fuel up with breakfast and then leave Aremd behind for your challenging, yet rewarding, climb up towering Toubkal mountain. The ascent is usually only possible during the summer between June and September, when the snow line recedes, so this summer tour is the perfect time to go.Head through orchards and up the floodplain of the Ait Mizane Valley before continuing up the steep mountainside. Stop off at Sidi Chamarouch, a popular place of pilgrimage for Moroccans, and walk to Toubkal Base Camp at Neltner, at an altitude of 10,521 feet (3,207 meters).Rest up in the evening, because tomorrow you're heading to the peak!Overnight: 1- to 2-star g te in NeltnerAfter breakfast, set off early for a hike to the Jebel Toubkal peak at 13,671 feet (4,167 meters) above sea level. This peak is the tallest in North Africa, and a highlight of the High Atlas range!
Day 5: Neltner ─ Jebel Toubka ─ Neltner (B, L, D)Follow your guide at a steady pace to the summit, where your efforts are rewarded with stunning views across the entire Atlas mountain range. Work your way back down the slopes, and rest overnight back in Neltner.
Overnight: 1- to 2-star g te in NeltnerDay 6: Neltner ─ Marrakech (B, L, D)Pack up after breakfast and walk downhill with your guide to Imlil.
