Hop aboard an air-conditioned Supratours bus (the regional bus) at the Marrakech station and relax on the 3-hour journey to Essaouira; as you approach the coast, keep an eye out for goats climbing the argan trees!Upon arrival in Essaouira, meet your guide inside the medina walls to begin your city tour. Visit a local pastry shop and sample traditional Moroccan pastries for breakfast, then head to one of the city’s old watchtowers to take in panoramic views over Essaouira, the port and the Atlantic Ocean in the distance. Listen as your guide points out notable sights from your privileged vantage point.Next, dive into the hustle and bustle of the medina ─ the traditional center for trade and shopping. Meet a local artist to learn about traditional Moroccan art, and gain insight into the artistic heritage for which the country is known. Admire the artworks on display and marvel at the creativity of Moroccan craftsmanship.Your next stop is the local fish market, where you'll taste fresh, grilled fish. As a coastal city, the seafood in Essaouira is a real highlight! Soak up the market's busy atmosphere, then head outside of the medina to follow your lunch with a traditional Moroccan dessert.Conclude your tour with a guided walk through a local souk (market). Remember to allow enough time to collect your bus ticket from the bus station before boarding. The driver will not accept vouchers.
