When your cruise ship docks in Casablanca, enjoy a shore excursion to Marrakech and discover one of the jewels in Morocco’s crown. Hop aboard your air-conditioned vehicle for the 3-hour journey, then meet your guide in the heart of Marrakech to begin your tour.
First, head to the 12th-century Koutoubia Mosque and admire its imposing minaret from the outside. Listen as your guide offers insight into the mosque’s role in Marrakech society today and gain insight into the ancient religion of Islam.
Continue to Bahia Palace, a beautiful fortress built in the 19th century and widely considered among the finest examples of Moroccan architecture in Marrakech. Admire the beautifully decorated hallways and suites, and learn of the palace’s turbulent history.
Head onward with your guide to the impressive Saadian Tombs, a 16th-century chamber where members of the Saadian family dynasty are buried. Saadian Sultan Ahmed al-Mansour ed-Dahbi was a man of enormous wealth, and he spared no expense in preparing his family’s final resting place.
After lunch (own expense) at a local restaurant or cafe of your choice, dive into the hustle and bustle of Marrakech’s famous souks. Explore the stalls at your leisure and perhaps pick up a souvenir or two of your visit.
Finish your time in Marrakech in the historical Djemaa el Fna square, where acrobats, fire-eaters, musicians, snake charmers and storytellers ply their trades the way they have for centuries. Driver Mustafa was excellent. We asked the driver to stop the van at a petrol station half way back to Casablanca and picked up some nice cheap souvenirs, that where much cheaper then in the city of Marrakesh. Rest of the tour was okay. The guide did show us around the old and new city. The tour of the city's were nice. We wanted to shop. We did inform the guide we were more interested in shopping then sightseeing. I know the guide take us to his friends and family locations and probably got a kickback.The three selected shops that the guide took us to were expensive in our option. If that is what I wanted and thought that is what I was paying for I would of booked the tour through the cruise ship. I know that they do that.

Highly recommended. The driver was waiting at the pier hen we got off the ship. He drove us from Casablanca to Marrakech where we met our local guide. The guide spoke good English and was helpful in making purchases. We told him we wanted to see the snake charmers and we did. We knew people on the ship tour who did not see the snake charmers. The main reason for going to Marrakech was the big open market. If you were by yourself you could get lost in the maze of the open market. The guide asked us what time we wanted to leave to make sure we got back to the ship on time and the driver was waiting at that time. We got back to the ship with 45 minutes to spare. The bonus is that we paid less than 1/2 of what the ship charged and we got a personal tour with just 4 of us instead of 40 people on a bus.
