A unique combination of zoo, museum and amusement park, Xcaret provides a one-stop entertainment shop for every visitor. Enjoy hotel pickup from Playa del Carmen and the 15-minute ride to the modern eco-archeological park.
Mayans held sacred rites at Xcaret, meaning ‘small inlet,’ for more than 1,000 years. It is believed they engaged in cleansing rituals in the underground limestone caverns here before canoeing to the island of Cozumel to pray to the goddess of fertility and childbirth.
Explore these caverns that sprawl beneath the jungle of the Riviera Maya. Wander through the underground maze and run into rivers and local wildlife, such as deer, monkeys, raccoons and macaws. Solve your way out of the labyrinth and find yourself at Mayan Village, where you’ll learn about the ancient Mayans’ societal norms, family dynamics, home construction and village infrastructure.
Walk along a peaceful trail and visit archaeological sites, or stroll through the orchid garden. Take delight in the wildlife wonders at the coral reef aquarium, aviary and butterfly pavilion.
Cool off with a swim in the inlet lagoon, or snorkel in warm clear pools and greet sea turtles. Then dry off on a natural beach under the shade of a palapa.
Return to your hotel at the end of the day, or stay until after the sun sets. Complete your Xcaret visit by attending the popular Xcaret M?xico Espectacular, a night show featuring more than 300 performers in traditional costumes who act and dance their way through Mayan and Mexican history and culture from pre-Columbian times to present day. After the show, bus transport will be waiting to take you back to your Cancun hotel.

Had a great, fun filled day. Lots to see and do in one day. Especially enjoyed the underground river swim and the evening Mexico show.

Great day out! It's full on though, not much relaxing time. You'll need biodegradable sun screen to use in the park, which they sell on the coach at a fair price. My girlfriend did a dolphin experience too, which she loved. The show was great, but the food in the show is very traditional..not 4 all!

We went without kids and stayed the whole day, but were never bored! The park is cleverly designed with lots of shaded paths and underground caves - it really helped keep you cool. The evening show is a must-see, but good seats fill up fast. An easy way to get great seating is to buy the dinner and show package. It's relatively inexpensive, open bar, and the food was good. Also get the photo package, it's worth it and there are photo ops everywhere.

Long day when there is only one time to return to our hotel and too far to take a taxi back. We could have enjoyed the park in 4 hours not 8 but then we don't have kids.

Great way to spend the day. You can be as active or lazy as you want. Lots things to do or just lay around the beach. I used this tour as one of my last things to do as I was pretty tired by the end of the week of activities

Definitely an experience worth having. Going the through the underground rivers was amazing. Especially the second time when we swam through the bat cave, the Mayan village and the museum.
The show at night was thoroughly entertaining. The games, story and history could not have been taught in a more memorable way.
