Your Mexican cooking experience begins as you meet your guide at your hotel or central meeting point in Cancun or Playa del Carmen. You will then head to the location where the tour takes place and enjoy a hot chocolate or mexican coffe (caf□ de la olla) with some pastrys in the terrace in the jungle, where you will be able to experience the real Mexico.
Then, you will take a look into the organic garden and maybe pick some of the products you will use in the class.
Next, head to the kitchen and have a wonderful time on cooking class. Put on your apron (which you get to keep after the tour) and learn how to prepare a seven course menu, including your own tortillas which you will cook in a comal. During the class, you will get a light snack and fruit drinks.
Then, you will take part in a private Mexican Fiesta where you will eat the gourmet meal prepared in class. You will feast on traditional Mexican food and enjoy Mexican drinks, tequila shots, and Mexican music. End the afternoon with dessert and cafe de la Olla (Mexican coffee) and take a look at a "tiendita" (shop) where you will find handmade Mexican products.

My husband and I had a one-on-one cooking class with Thomas. It was so much fun. Thomas is an amazing Chef and made accommodation because I am a vegetarian. Upon our arrival, breakfast was provided and we had a nice conversation with our Chef Thomas. Next, we made corn and sweet tamales, frijoles, tostadas, green peppers, quesadilla and chaminones. I had never had sweet tamales before. In between preparing some of the food, Thomas provided snacks and drinks for us. It was very tasty. After all the food was prepared, Thomas sat down to a feast with us outdoors. The table setting was beautiful and it was so much food, we couldn't eat it all. I forgot to mention, after breakfast Thomas took us on a tour of the garden in the jungle. It was really cool to see the freshly grown vegetables used to prepare our food. I highly recommend this excursion, because it was only two of us we able to do the cooking instead of watch a demonstration. The oowner is the one who usually does the cooking classes, however she was out of town. It was a pleasure to have Thomas teach us. Perfect couples date! The food was delicious!

Food was amazing BUT when you say 5 hour experience if you leave at 9 you should be back at 1 1 not 5. No connect to call the sitter. Transportation was terrible!!! Left us on dirt road to walk 2 Miles then on way back had to stop to get gas- terrible experience

Everything about Mexico Lindo is amazing. We are so happy that we had the opportunity to cook with such a talented chef and her staff. The food was outstanding, the knowledge that we learned will remain with us and the magic of the surroundings will remain in our heart. If you have the opportunity to visit the Cancun/Riviera Maya area it is recommended that you visit Mexico Lindo. The transport was clean, on time and friendly...very easy. Gracias Mexico Lindo you truly are beautiful Mexico.

This was an amazing way to experience the Mexican culture through a delicious 7 course meal that you help prepare. Chef Ale and her staff welcome you into their magical world at the edge of the jungle where you first got to enjoy Mexican coffee and cocoa with tasty pastries then walked out into the garden to forage fresh ingredients for the meal youd be preparing. You learn about layering flavors to create amazing dishes. Chef Ale encourages you to be as involved as you like so you can learn how to replicate at your home. At the end, we sat down with Ale and enjoyed a delicious meal. Would highly recommend this for anyone who loves to cook and eat authentic Mexican cuisine.

This tour was everything it was expected to be and more. The chef and her team were fun helpful and very impressive. If you are looking to learn about food and culture and have a great time this is the tour for you!

Alexandra is an awesome instructor and quite interesting person as well. We loved the cooking experience and have already used some of what we learned to treat our family to Authentic Mexican. Would do it again or other classes she offers.

I was looking for something different than the typical tourist activities when I found Chef Ali's cooking school! It was everything I expected and more. The recipes were great; I learned how to make tamales like I've always wanted. I can't wait share my new talents with friends and family at home.

My husband and I spent a wonderful day with Chef Alexandra in her kitchen. She shared some history of Mexico and the cultures that came together to create this thing known as Mexican cuisine. She is very high energy and kept us busy the entire day! This is a very hands on class and we worked! And what wonderful recipes we prepared. Chef said the recipes came from her grandmother with her own tweaks added. I can't wait to return home and try some of the recipes myself. Even though I don't have the amazing clay pots she used to cook everything I'm hoping I can come close to the tastes I remember.
