Meet your guides at the Aquaworld Marina on Kukulcan Boulevard in Cancun, across the street from the Paradisus Cancun Hotel. From there, walk a short distance to your boat for a 15-minute cruise to one of Cancun’s famous reefs, Chitales. The area is only about 20 to 35 feet (6 to 11 meters) deep, making it a great spot for underwater adventurers of all experience levels.
Once you arrive at the Chitales reef area, your professional BOB guides provide you with a briefing, during which you'll learn basic piloting maneuvers, common operating procedures and easy-to-understand hand signals. A safety briefing on snorkeling will accompany the BOB orientation. Your guides will then divide the people in your boat into two groups: one group rides the BOB scooters while the other group snorkels, then the groups switch activities.
With the BOB, you avoid the hassle of carrying heavy equipment on your back or learning the nuances of diving, allowing you to explore the underwater world with ease. Just sit down on the seat and place your head inside the clear acrylic bubble-shaped helmet, filled with air from a storage tank; the rest of your body is submerged in water.
If you’re in the first group to ride the BOB scooters, climb on when you’re ready and propel down 30 feet (9 meters) to cruise around a coral reef teeming with colorful fish. You’ll travel at an easy two knots, which is a little over one mile per hour (two kilometers per hour).
Throughout your underwater scooter adventure, which lasts about 30 to 35 minutes, a team of professional BOB experts stop to point out the marine life around the magnificent coral reef. Keep your eyes peeled for sea turtles and manatees!
After the BOB ride and tour, get ready to snorkel! Pull on your provided mask, snorkel and fins and when you’re ready, hop in to skim the water’s surface for about 30 to 35 minutes.
At any point if you need a break, grab a bottle of water or have some fresh fruit snacks on board. Feel free to ask any questions about the creatures you see, or ask for help adjusting your gear.
After exploring Chitales from several vantage points, your boat will take you back to the Aquaworld Marina. Nous navons pas plu le faire a cause de la meteo :/ alors nous avons fait du waverunners. C’?tait vraiment nice, mais on ne pouvais pas allee trop loin alors sa venai dull a la longue de toujlurs virer en rond.

I could not enjoy this tour due to the motion sickness but my husband really enjoyed it. He even wants to do this again!!

Was cancelled due to weather but they changed us to another activity.

Our bob tour was very interesting the sea life was amazing the only problem was the waters were a little choppy that day and it included snorkeling they said it was too rough to snorkel so we didn't get to do it but being able to do the Bob was awesome.

We had so much fun. We got to see so much underground life. The instructors were great at explaining what we should do to use the bob. The only complaints were #1 that it would last longer (overall inside the Bob only about 30 mins or less) #2 that we would be able to head out a bit farther.

It's so beautiful to see the crystal clear water, while you snorkel. Then you get to see just how beautiful the water really is, when you are now submerged under, and see all these amazing water species. Fishes got so close to me and got to see a huge water turtle.

The tour was simply amazing.

Cool idea, drive your own little submarine thingy. Very slow, calm water only, and you will see much more if you go snorkeling instead. After the BOB part was over, there was only 10 minutes to go snorkeling. Less claustrophobic than snorkeling, but still uneasy to dive underwater and swim into sub.

This excursion was soooo much fun. I am afraid to scuba dive, but my husband loves it. So when I saw this excursion where I did not have to carry a tank or wear a mask, I was really excited that I had found something my husband and I could both do. The scooters are quite slow, so I guess if one encountered a shark they would be in big trouble, but that didn't happen. We got to see the reef, a sea turtle and hold a starfish. I loved that the guide took a video and photos so we have memories from this excursion. I would do it again in a heartbeat. The only downfall to this excursion was the fact that I suffered a perforated eardrum. I popped my ears at every time the guide said, however, at one point I felt a great deal of pain. As I have never scuba dived I thought that this might be normal, as my husband said that you feel discomfort in your ears. However, after the pain did not subside for the rest of the week and upon my return home I went to the doctor and found out I had a perforation. My husband said that they took us down much quicker than is recommended for scuba diving and that this is probably why. I would just recommend they slow the descent down so that others do not have this problem. It has been three weeks since we have been home and I am still waiting for this to heal. Other than that absolutely amazing excursion.
