Travel 30-minutes by motorised boat, pass mangrove swamps and picturesque fishing villages on the way to Sarawak's first marine national park. Arrive at Satang Island, one of the three islands set aside by the government for turtle conservation.
First, visit the turtle conservation and hatchery area and learn about the conservation programme. Park rangers collect the turtles eggs, count them and replace them in a beach hatchery. When the hatchlings emerge from their eggs after 40 to 60 days, the rangers record the numbers and release them into the sea.
Then proceed to Satang Island's beautiful white sand beach for snorkeling amidst the wide variety of soft corals, spotting an abundance of colourful marine life. Or an alternatively is to take a stroll through the rugged jungle that covers the island. A packed lunch is included.行程概要出發地點

no turtles when we were there but there were nests of eggs

Guides were attentive although water bit merky due to recent rain. Water was warm.

Although not the high season so turtle side was good and the trip was excellent overall as we had a trip to ourselves, so really attentive and very informative. My wife saw a turtle and snorkling was very good.

Snorkeling not that good. Water was a bit murky and there were sea lice in the water. But i did see quite a few fish and some big ones too. The island was quiet was really nice to sit in the shade (it was hot !) on the beach, except for the sand flies. Lunch was ok. Dont expect to see any turtles, just their tracks on the sand and where the eggs have been relocated. I did enjoy just sitting in the warm water on the beach (no sea lice or sand flies in the shallow water).
