Meet your guide at the entrance to Bangsar Station, a stop along the city’s Light Rail Transit (LRT), to begin your small-group food tour of Kuala Lumpur. Then, follow your guide off the beaten track through hidden backstreets and narrow alleys to sample enough local food for a delicious lunch!
Stroll with your small group through the Indian-influenced neighborhood of Brickfields, where you’ll find architecture and music as loud and colorful as the food! At the hawker center, famous for its South Indian food stalls and restaurants, sample delicious Indian dishes, each plated on a banana leaf. Your guide will introduce you to an assortment of Indian breads along with chicken, fish or mutton curry.
As you walk around, your guide will order your food and help you interact with the locals, making sure you taste the best dishes, including a variety of delectable Indian sweets. Try sugary morsels like fresh banana fritter, gulabjamu (a sticky, sweet treat) or cendol a local favorite made of shaved ice, plum sugar, kidney beans and coconut milk jelly.
Next, your guide will take your small group aboard the sky-high transit system to Kuala Lumpur’s bustling Chinatown. Weave through this vibrant neighborhood, known for its Chinese shops serving traditional dim sum. Dive into a bowl of tasty stir-fried noodles and sample a glass of refreshing limejuice while you take in the lively atmosphere around you.
Complete your culinary tour over coffee at an old-school coffee house, where you’ll see charming photos from Kuala Lumpur’s past on display. As you relax, your guide will further discuss Malaysian customs and food culture, as well as offer recommendations of where to eat for dinner.

Everytime I go to a new city I try and do a good tour. It's a great way to understand and appreciate the culture in a new city. Charlie was amazing, he explained the Malay culture to everyone and always checked in to see if we were happy.Would highly recommend a foodie tour.

Im with all the other reviewers on this one. We actually had two personable and informative guides for our group of six, and we all got to know each other as we walked through some really interesting parts of KL such as the old quarter, garland alley and heritage areas. The walking was easy, the food interesting and enjoyable, not to mention plentiful. Our guides stayed with us long after the advertised duration and it was with regret that we had to detach ourselves and return to a cruise ship. They gave us good directions to get back to our meeting place, and we took happy memories with us. Would recommend this to anyone. Make sure you are hungry!

Everything about this tour was fabulous. Ian our guide was lovely and very knowledgeable. The food was incredible and it was great to eat with and like a local. Thanks Ian.

He took us to the cheap food along the street we passed, I was hoping he took us to the restaurant or the place that cook great food I do not mind to have one small plate to taste for the three of us

Charles is a wonderful guide--tour included not only a few stops stops for food, but many different locations and venues for a full Malaysian experience. Included lots of information about the country, customs and ethnic groups, showed us lots of sights along the way. The best food tour I've ever been on!

This was a wonderful way to get insights into the culture and food of Kuala Lumpur.Our guide, Charlie, was great fun and provided really interesting information in a way that engaged the group. The numbers in the group were small12 so it was a fun way to spend a few hours while meeting some lively other travellers. Highly recommend it!
