Make your way to the Tokyo City i tourist and information center to meet your guide, and travel south by train to Lazona Kawasaki Plaza, a large shopping complex that features international and Japanese brands such as Uniqlo, Muji and Bic Camera.
Enjoy shopping at your leisure for one hour, and then hop back on the train to reach the Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum. Spend about an hour here learning all about this Japanese soup dish. Check out informative displays that detail ramen manufacturing and explain the different types of noodles, broths and toppings made around the country, and visit the theme park like floor that recreates Tokyo circa 1958, when instant noodles were first produced. Here, vendors from Japan’s most famous ramen shops sell bowls of their distinctive styles of ramen (feel free to purchase a bowl at your own expense).
Next, board a colorful bus that takes you to Fujiko F Fujio Museum, home to exhibits about the Doraemon manga series, first published in 1969 and now popular worldwide. You have about 1.5 hours on your own to explore original artwork, a manga reading room, showings of Fujio cartoons, a sculpture garden, and a Doreamon cafe and gift shop.
