On your guided tour of Crumlin Road Gaol, visit the reception processing building, where incoming prisoners were processed and washed.
Walk along the infamous tunnel linking the gaol to the Crumlin Road Courthouse, and take in the view of the gaol's center circle, which branches out into four wings: A, B, C, and D. You can explore cells where up to four prisoners at a time would live, plus see the 'Condemned Man's' cell, where a prisoner spent his final days before being executed by hanging.

We had the last tour of the day and there were only six of us so it was intimate and nice. Our tour guide Terry was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. He takes you through and around the prison though there is time to explore a bit on your own. There is also a restarant there with very good food!

Absolutely recommend this tour! It's very fascinating, regardless of any prior knowledge you may or may not have. Our tour guide was Brendan. He was brilliant, knew anything you wanted to know if he hadn't already told you. The tour takes you through the prisoners' reception area, the underground tunnel connecting the jail with the courthouse across the road, the governer's office, one wing of cells and the outer grounds. It takes a little over an hour to complete and is very accessible. We walked there using iPhone maps from Jury's Inn in 20 minutes but I believe there is a few bus lines running close by. Great value for money, great for kids and great for anyone with any inkling of interest!

This tour is very cheap and represents fantastic value for money. The guide was excellent and very knowledgeable, it was absolutely fascinating to be able to walk through the jail and listen to the expert commentary. I was only in Belfast for a short time but the tour is not too long and easy to to fit into a busy schedule. Highly recommended.

This is definitely a MUST DO if you visit Belfast. A very informative and fascinating tour, thank you Iain our guide. the prison is easy to get to via local bus service 57 that drops you off right outside the gaol entrance.
