It is sprinkled with fortresses and palaces that were once, and in some cases are still, occupied by maharajas, India's regional monarchs. The state is also home to colorful villages and towns ─ some known by names like the 'Blue City' and 'Pink City' ─ where bejeweled women are draped in bright hues. This 8-day private tour with an informative private guide takes you to some of these places and more, from famous palaces to off-the-beaten-path parts of the region.

Day 1: Delhi Neemrana (D)After pickup at your hotel or New Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport, make the drive to the town of Neemrana and check into the Neemrana Fort-Palace Hotel, a property inside a 15th-century palace that boasts seven wings and 14 layers tiered along a hill. Explore the palace at your leisure.

Day 2: Neemrana Samode (B, D)After breakfast, drive to Samode (approximately three hours) and check into the Samode Palace Hotel, a heritage property with marble floors, intricate wall tiles and ornamented pillars. Make sure to admire the exquisite Diwan-i-Khas covered with original paintings and mirror work.
Later, ascend to the top of Samode Fort for a great view of the village of Samode, and then stroll to the village itself to see what life is like there. Don’t miss romantic Samode Bagh, a lush garden enclosed by 15-foot-high (5-meter) walls.

Day 3: Samode Nagaur (B, D)Have breakfast, and then make the 5-hour drive to Nagaur, a historically important and beautiful desert town crowned by Naguar Fort, considered to be the greatest example of a Rajasthani land fort in the area. Check into your hotel, located in the fort.
Spend the day visiting forts and palaces in the area, including Hadi Rani Mahal, bedecked with intricate mural paintings, and Deepak Mahal, a fortress boasting wall-to-wall floral designs. At Akbari Mahal, enjoy the ample amounts of art and detailed architecture inside and outside the palace, and at Zenana Deori, admire incredible ceiling and wall frescoes that look like they could be the work of an Indian Michelangelo.

Day 4: Nagaur (B, D)Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, and then take an excursion to Khimsar fort palace, an ostentatious Baroque palace about an hour’s drive from Nagaur. Later, explore the village of Nagaur, and then take a leisurely but exciting camel safari in the evening.

Day 5: Nagaur Nimaaj (B, D) Head to Nimaaj after breakfast, about a 3-hour drive, and check into Nimaaj Palace. It was here that Rao Uda Ji, grandson of Rao Jodha Ji (founder of Jodhpur) became a sovereign ruler of Nimaaj and Jaitaran, and founded the sub-clan popularly known as Udawat Rathores. After getting comfortable in the hotel, head out on a countryside jeep tour. Go from village to village to meet artisans, craftsmen, shepherds and even a snake charmer. Then return to Nimaaj for a guided tour of the village.

Day 6: Nimaaj Deogarh (B, D)Head to Deogarh after breakfast, about 3-hour drive. Check into your hotel, the heritage palace Deogarh Mahal, a large, rambling, canary-yellow building. The Deogarh family converted the aristocratic home into a hotel, and some family members still live in the structure.
Take a drive to explore the rural settings around Deogarh. You'll visit cave temples, including an intricately carved temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. From the top of the cavern, get an incredible view of your surroundings and the black volcanic rock that sprinkles the landscape. Later, drive to a lake for some refreshments and do some birdwatching as the sun sets behind the water.

Day 7: Deogarh Udaipur (B, D)After breakfast, drive to the railway station for the 2-hour train journey that takes you just 13 miles (20 km ) but provides beautiful scenery. Gawk at the lush forests and, in cold-weather months, rapid waterfalls. While on board, enjoy a cup of tea or a refreshing glass of lemonade. When you arrive in Udaipur, check into your hotel, the charming Fateh Prakash Palace, and then take a cruise around Lake Pichola and learn about the history of Udaipur.

Day 8: Udaipur Delhi (B)In the morning, take a tour of colorful Udaipur, starting with the 18th-century City Palace, the interior of which is bedecked with paintings, wall murals and mirrors. From there, stop by Jagdish Temple, built in 1651 and dedicated to Lord Vishnu. After a drive around Fatehsagar Lake, visit temple-strewn Eklinji and then Nagda, one of the ancient Palaces of Mewar dating back to the 6th century.
In the evening, transfer to the Udaipur airport for the flight back to Delhi.飯店接送
