DAY 1:
We will pick you up at Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport in Indore where is now a dynamic bustling city in the heart of Malwa plateau and once an important part of many important kingdoms. Transfer to Maheshwar (approx. 2 hrs), a glorious city situated on the banks of the river Narmada with wonderful temples and forts. Upon arrival check in to your hotel. After lunch take a boat trip to visit Baneshwar Temple in the middle of the river which is believed to be in the center of the universe according to ancient Hindu texts. The axis that runs through this simple temple connects the North Polar star with the center of the earth. Enjoy evening tea or coffee on the boat at sunset. Dinner and overnight stay is included.
DAY 2:
After breakfast go to Mandu, a 15th-century city with marvels of early Afghan architecture that is approx. 60 km single way (approx. 1.5 hrs). The elevated plateau is the scene of most enchanting variety and celebrating in stone. It tells you the story of the life, joy and love of the poet prince Baz Bahadur for his beautiful consort, Rani Roopmati. Picnic lunch at Mandu surrounded by the Vindhya mountains and lush plains of the river Narmada interspersed with ornamental canals, palaces,baths and arcaded pavilions. After returning to Maheshwar, enjoy dinner at the fort. Stay overnight.
DAY 3:
After breakfast visit the ancient craft of Maheshwar, the weaving centres famous for their Maheshwari sarees. Stopover at the charming school created by the Prince for the weaver’s children. Return for lunch and visit Ghats. Afterwards have evening tea or coffee and dinner. Overnight stay.
DAY 4:
After breakfast enjoy a day at leisure. There is no itinerary planned for the day. We will drop you off at Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport for your onward journey.行程概要出發地點
