Meet your local guide at your chosen time and start with an orientation session to get familiar with your two-wheeled, electric, self-balancing Segway. Once you feel comfortable, you will follow your guide through the streets of Thessaloniki, a city with twentythree centuries-long history, named after the sister of Alexander the Great.
The tour starts at Aristotelous, the main connecting point of Thessaloniki's past with its modern time. Aristotelous Square is the perfect place to get a feeling of the pace of life in this unique city. The square and street are named after the great ancient philosopher, Aristotle, whose bronze statue now overlooks the square. Feel the breeze while moving eastwards along Thessaloniki's coastline, until you reach the emblematic White Tower. This 15th century Ottoman tower, built on the ruins of a Byzantine Tower and part of the city's fortifications, miraculously survived to this day and is at the heart of many stories.
Afterwards, the tour will visit the statues of Philip B' which united the Greek cities under one rule and that of his son, the world-famous Alexander the Great. Through his tactics, diplomacy and politics, Alexander the Great managed to turn the Greek Alliance to an empire spanning three continents. Crossing the serene park behind the grandiose statue of Alexander on his horse Bucephalus, we pass by the Archaeological and the Byzantine Museums to reach the immense International Exhibition Center. The Thessaloniki International Trade Fair (DETH) is an annual event of great commercial political significance for Greece and Southeastern Europe, while the site also features some of Thessaloniki’s most impressive landmarks: the 76m-tall telecommunications tower (OTE tower), the controversial Zongolopoulos' 17m tall sculpture, "Cor-ten" and the fountain of Sabri Pasha.
The tour then passes by the Unesco site of Rotunda, the cylindrical monumental building and perhaps the oldest Christian temple in the world to reach the complex of Galerius, last stop of the tour. From the remains of the majestic triumphal Arch (“Kamara”), the tour follows Navarinou str. passing by the ruins of the Palace of Galerius and glides along the coastline once more to head back.
Throughout the tour, we make regular stops, when necessary or available, so that you have the opportunity and time to take photos, rest etc. Our tours are flexible, so that a group can make more frequent stops, or take a couple of extra minutes at a certain site and then make up for the delay.行程概要出發地點
