Day 1: Athens Corinth Canal Mycenae Epidaurus Nauplia/Olympia (D)
Set off from Athens in the morning and head along the mainland coast to Corinth Canal by coach. Linking the Saronic Gulf with the Gulf of Corinth, the canal is steep-sided and narrow, making it a favorite spot for thrill-seeking bungee jumpers. After stopping to see this impressive canal, your tour continues to the seaside town of Nauplia for a walk, and then continue by coach to Mycenae for a walking tour of its archaeological site. Learn about the Classical Greece era from your guide, hearing tales of the period’s strong influence on the Roman Empire. Here, enjoy free time for lunch (own expense) at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, the archaeological site of Epidaurus. Enjoy a guided tour around its evocative ruins, and see the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Sanctuary of Asklepios (the shrine to the Greek god of medicine) and the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus.
Enjoy your evening in Nauplia or Olympia (depending on travel date) at leisure after dinner in your hotel.
Overnight: Amalia (4-star hotel) in Nauplia or Olympia
Day 2: Nauplia/Olympia Antirion Delphi (B, D)
Enjoy breakfast in your hotel and then meet your guide for a morning tour of Olympia’s archaeological site. In the times of Classical Greece, the site attracted pilgrims who gathered around the Atlis (Sanctuary of the Gods) to worship the Greek god Zeus. See fascinating ruins like the Stadium of Olympia, where Greece’s ancient Olympic Games took place.
After spending your morning in Olympia, and perhaps taking lunch at leisure, hop back on board your coach for the drive to Antirion, passing Patras on the way. Cross over the incredible Rion-Antirion Bridge considered an architectural icon of 21st-century Greece and pass by town of Nafpaktos. Your day finishes with a relaxing meal in your Delphi hotel.
Overnight: Parnassos or Hermes (3-star), or Amalia (4-star) in Delphi
Day 3: Delphi Athens (B)
Set off early with your friendly guide to explore Delphi’s archaeological site one of the most important in Europe. As you walk around this intriguing UNESCO World Heritage site with your guide, see monuments like the Sanctuary of Athena and the Temple of Apollo.
In the late morning visit Delphi Archaeological Museum to see countless numbers of artifacts and relics many of them dating back to 15th-century BC. As you walk ‘round at leisure, look out for must-see pieces including the Charioteer of Delphi, the Sphinx of Naxos and the marble statue of Antonius (a beloved friend of Emperor Hadrian).

The stops at Mycenae, Epidaurus, Olympia, and Delphi nicely complemented our stay in Athens. Xenia was a knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide and made the tour even more enjoyable and informative than if we had toured the sites on our own. The hotel room in Delphi offered a balcony with a spectacular view and walking distance to the town. The two hotel breakfast buffets were varied and plentiful and fueled us for the day ahead, but the hotel dinners were just ho-hum, especially when compared to the delicious meals we had eaten in restaurants and tavernas in Athens and on the islands. . Because the tour met and in some ways surpassed our expectations, we will definitely consult Viatour for tours on future trips.. The vendor C.H.A.T. Tours definitely upheld the strong recommendation for Viatour that we had received from friends.

The tour is well organized and the lady guide provided the right amount of information, both at the sights and on the bus, historical and on everyday life of the Greeks both in ancient times and today, so she kept it interesting and relaxed at all times. You can really tell she likes her job. The minivan is what would you call a luxury one and the hotels booked pleasantly surprised us - we went with Amalia hotels first class option and it was well worth the price difference - both were little gems in Olympia and Delphi, rustic, clean and the food was plentiful and of good quality, we were thinking we could have easily spent some days in hotels relaxing as well.
The improvements points: the tour is 3 days and quite packed so it is easy to exhaust yourself, also there is a time strain so you feel somewhat rushed, would suggest to offer it in 4 or even 5 days so there is enough time for everything and a day just relaxing by the hotel pool would do everyone good and people might be interested to book this option both Amalia 4 star hotels we stayed in had wonderfully kept grounds and large pools we did not have time to use. Another thing is the guide, as mentioned, was very professional and informative, for but one occasion - when we were in Olympia in front of the monument dedicated to Philip of Macedonia, out of nowhere she went into day-to-day politics ranting about Greece and FYR of Macedonia name dispute and detailing her opinion on which nations came to the peninsula when and who has the right to be where...people just stood there uninterested and baffled waiting for her to finish and move on as it went on for more then 10mins and, as mentioned, otherwise we were on the time strain for stops. I would highly suggest to stay out of these kind of political manifests and speeches as it is not what people came to hear and might offend tourists form respective countries mentioned.
All in all, the tour is enjoyable and informative but with a time constraint, should be at least 4 days. -
Chat tours, has this down to a science. I was apprehensive about doing a three-day bus tour imagining crowded conditions and long waits. On the contrary, the orchestration of participants being picked up and managed through the tour some did longer some shorter so there were quite a few logistics to manage was excellent. Our guide, Katerina Ppmchiki was extraordinary. We were on a small bus with a great driver. Just as I started to get restless being on a bus, they would stop for a quick break or yet another site to see. The timing of the rides versus the tours was outstanding. There were a couple of opportunities to jump in the water and I regretted not having a bathing suit handy. I would have liked to see more of Nafplion, but it just means I have to go back. What an amazing little city that those outside of Greece are unlikely to know about. The Classical sites speak for themselves, however, this was a fantastic way to see them.

We took this tour in April and really enjoyed it. Our guide, Stofos, was very knowledgeable and we were glad we got him. We seen a lot of sites and with his interpretation of ancient Greece the sites came alive. The tour pickup, hotel, food, everything was very professional and no hiccups. The bus was very comfortable and stopped for breaks.
We normally don't take tours when we go on vacation because we like to have our own pace. I must admit for this tour if you weigh the knowledge of Stofos and what you are looking at I would choose this again. We seen a lot of people on their own and we knew they didn't know what they were looking at. When Stofos was taking about something we saw other people trying to get close to hear what he was saying...ha. Granted you don't get to see everything at the sites but you get most of it. The trip is very well planned out so you get to see a lot in just a couple of days. Totally recommend if you are interested in ancient Greece outside of Athens.

Firstly I'm not a fan of bus tours. I went on this tour as it seemed the easiest way to see a number of sites. I'm pleased to say I thoroughly enjoyed the tour. The tour guide was very informative, friendly and funny. I loved the ancient sites such a Delphi and Olympia and thought there was adequate time allowed at each site to do the guided tour and explore individually.
I think what really made the tour special where the other participants. Everybody was friendly and mixed in well. I made a number of immediate tour friends.
My only criticism would be the included meals which where all buffet style the food was mass produced and very mediocre. The first lunch stop which wasn't an included meal was at a restaurant outside a town so there were no other options. The restaurant offered about 4 traditional meals at a set price. I just wanted a sandwich or salad but was unable to get either. I would suggest stopping in a village that has a number of different lunch options.

This was a high-value tour for an introduction to Ancient Greece and its mythology. Our travel guide was really knowledgable, accommodating of everyone and the rest of the CHAT Tours staff were also good to us. We stayed in very comfortable hotels, ate delicious Greek food and were given enough time to explore on our own. This sort of tour would be enjoyable for all ages - from student to senior citizens.

A GREAT WAY OF SEEING ALL THE CLASSIC SITES WITH GOOD TOUR GUIDES, CLEAN and MODERN ACCOMMODATION AND PLENTY OF LOCAL FOOD. AN INFORMATIVE MEMORIAL TRIP OF GOOD VALUE. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE STURDY WALKING SHOES AS SOME OF THE TRACKS ARE ROUGH BUT THAT'S PART OF THE EXPERIENCE!

My husband and I really enjoyed this tour and it was mainly due to the guide we had. Joy was a gem and I think one of the best local guides we have been fortunate to ever have. She is extremely knowledgeable, and she shares this information with you in a very sensitive manner. She was able to give us a story as we went along in an articulate manner. She shared but did not lecture. Lots of fun and I only wish we had her longer!
The hotels were fine. The food slightly disappointing. Overcooked and no regional Greek dishes as we would expect. The bus was good.
