Our tour leads through the main park built in 1884 which now forms a community point for this district where we will make a short stop for an overview of the history and surroundings pointing out the various local landmarks and sights. At the Parks north entrance you will be guided to the nearby central area with its upmarket shops and caf?s whilst highlighting some of the historic aspects and pretty hidden places along the short route, from 'Varsos' a 'temple of traditional Greek desserts', one of the oldest places for sweets, patisseries and coffee in Greece and largely unchanged, to the pretty church of Panagistas offering a quiet place of hidden meditation just off the busy main street, opposite the line of horse drawn carriages providing short trips. The main area is not large, only consisting of a handful of streets which are very safe & easy to navigate. From here the group can relax & explore the shopping area either remaining accompanied, or on their own. For convenience of groups wishing to explore alone we provide a short orientation at this point and an easy map with highlights indicated.
After exploring the central area there is a short stroll to the Museum. The exhibits in the museum are wide ranging from dinosaurs to mammals to butterflies & plants, all very thoughtfully displayed with many interactive features kids & grown ups alike will appreciate. Finally, in the beautiful courtyard of the Museum we stop for lunch relaxing under the shade of the trees.
Set at an easy relaxed pace and highly suitable for families, this trip is also great for those looking to experience a different flavour of Athens.行程概要出發地點
