ACROPOLIS TOUR
FOR THE GUIDED ACROPOLIS TOUR / starts at 11:15am
Get off the MELINA MERKOURI / PLAKA stop and go to the designated meeting point. You will enter the Acropolis from the south slope so as to avoid the crowds and also to visit the Dionysus sanctuary and Dionysus Theatre built in the 5th century BC. As you begin to ascend the sacred hill a breathtaking view of the city below will unfold. Your guide will give you a detailed explanation of the glorious monuments of the Acropolis such as, the Parthenon, the Erectheion, the Propylaia, the Nike Temple, the Agrippa Monument and the surrounding monuments such as the Herodes Atticus Odeon, the Ancient Agora, the Observatory as well as the Philopappos, Mars and Pnyx Hills.
The guided tour ends on the Acropolis and then you can go on with the yellow bus.

Our guide will pick you up from the "FRESKO" Yogurt Bar located on 3, Dionyssiou Areopagitou st. which is at the beginning of the pedestrian walk way that takes you from Hadrian's Arch to the Acropolis. See meeting point photos here. Please be at the meeting point at 11:15 am. This tour is a part of the tour "City Tour & Acropolis" which starts earlier. Our guide with his/her group will come to the meeting point between 11:15am and 11:25am the latest; she or he will be holding the orange colored Athens Walking Tours sign. MEETING POINT FOR THE BUS TOUR: Athens Open Tour operates all year round excepting for the 17th of November and our Athens and Piraeus tours run daily with a 30 minute frequency time schedule from 08.00 until 19.30 during the summer season April to November and from 09.00am until 17.30pm during the winter season December to March.
