Great over night. Hotel was wonderful. Castles tours interesting. Lots of stairs but beauty of the castles while worth it.

An absolutely wonderful experience at all three castles and the stay at Hotel Muller was amazing.
Our only complaint is that there was quite a bit of confusion as to which bus we were supposed to be on because we thought the overnight tour would be on a separate bus from the day tour. This ended up not being the case for us and we were the only three guests who stayed overnight. But, our tour guide Sophie, got us all set up at the hotel and the tour guide who picked us up the next day Max was great as well.
We definitely recommend doing the overnight tour because not only do you get to see three castles instead of just two, you also don't have to rush after you've seen Neuschwanstein so there's plenty of time to see Mary's Bridge and to take a carriage ride down. The hotel is absolutely amazing as well. -
What a wonderful experience-lake Alpsee, the Alpsee Rose restaurant, both castles.

I'm not sure how to rate this tour. When I arrived at the bus depo operated by greyline, they advised me to the bus I need to go on my overnight tour. While on the bus Nancy our tour guide had no idea I was on a overnight tour not a good start, I'm very nervous at this stage - praying I was not on the wrong bus when I question her what do you mean you don't know she kinda ignored me. Nancy was a terrible guide , she was not organised at all. We waited so long out side the ticket area when we arrived at linerhof - she could not organise her group. Linderhof was beautiful - amazing castle and the grounds were gorgeous. Very picturesque.
I approached the tour guide again and she said the hotel at Fussen should have all my info when we arrive at neuschwanstein castle. Once we arrived Nancy took me to Hotel Muller if it wasn't for the hotel staff my nerves would not have settle
Neuschwanstein Castle WAS AMAZING it was breathtaking. I was relaxed by this stage I had checked into the hotel and all was good. I was happy. I was enjoying my afternoon at the castle. Once all the tourist left Fussen, it was such a quite little town. Beautiful, surround by both castles. The next day the hotel organised my tickets too Hohenschwangau castle. Everyone at the hotel was fantastic. Breakfast the next morning was fresh and delicious.
So I'm not sure if I rate the tour on what I saw or how I felt when the tour guide had no idea I was on an overnight tour, and really didn't seem to care! If I had to do it all again I would stay overnight but plan the thing myself. And not book this tour. Definitely stay at hotel Muller. -
Overall we were very happy but would have liked more time at Linderhof. We could have skipped the hour long stop at Oberammergau - mostly souvenir shopping. We were the only overnighters on the trip. At lunch our guide checked us into Hotel Muller and we were on our own until 4:30 the next day.

There are multiple buses picking up at Central. They will direct you to the correct bus- have your voucher ready. Tell the guide you are on the OVERNIGHT tour. They may ask for small group, premium tour, private tour travelers that they can not find. THIS IS YOU. You are not on the DAYTRIP tour. If you mess this up, as we did, it is not a big problem. This happens and Danielle put us back on track at the excelled hotel the company booked for us.
Overnight allows you to see all three castles, hike around the lake, and see the museum after a great lunch without the rush. -

Overall the tour was good after we figured out where we were going. It was very unorganized at the meetings points both when we started and at pick up. At pick up We were on the one day tour we were told to be outside at 4:15pm to meet the bus. We arrived 30 minutes early to be on the safe side. We stood outside in the pouring rain for about 15 minutes before I inquired with the hotel about what time the bus would arrive? They told me it was always about 45 minutes to an hour late so closer to 5:00pm. We went and waited in the hotel and went back out into the rain at 5pm. We looked for a rep but were just lost in a sea of others not knowing what to do. I asked a bus driver for help but he didn't know how to direct us. We finally found a rep who put us on a bus back to Munich. I gave it a three because of the issues with boarding, but otherwise all the stops and the hotel were great. I think if they can improve their boarding process and make it easier for guests they could be a five. When we boarded the guides seemed to be too busy with their coffee breaks to be dealing with us and they were quite curt and not very friendly.

This was an excellent trip in terms of the scenary and the places visited. Be prepared to do a lot of walking up and downhill, particularly at the Neuschwanstein Castle. The hotel was very nice and the town very pleasant. We had a nice evening meal at an outdoor restaurant by the nearby lake.
The bad part about this trip is that we were treated like add-ons to the day-trip participants. The guide aboard the bus did not know what hotel we were staying at and didn't secure a visitation time to the castle different from the day trip participants even though we had more time and didn't need to be rushed. Worse, we were given a voucher to be picked up for the return trip to Munich at 1600 hours. After waiting in the hotel lobby for a while, we had to ask at the desk about the return trip and were told then that our return wouldn't occur for another two hours - near 1800. We were joining a group in Munich that night and inquired about the return time to make sure it was as advertised prior to booking. Clearly, we were just pawns in the plans to accommodate the maximum number of parties for the day trip.
