Meet your private guide at Marienplatz (or be picked up at your central Munich hotel), from where your private Munich tour starts. Learn about the role of the central Marienplatz Square in Munich’s history and admire the New Town Hall (Neues Rathaus) with its famous Glockenspiel.
Continue your journey to Munich’s landmark Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady) and take a look at the 'devil’s footprint'. See St. Peter's Church, the oldest church in the city dating back to the origins of Munich. Stroll through Viktualienmarkt with its colorful stalls and delicious offerings. Take a look at the famous Hofbr uhaus with its old beer traditions and stop at Alter Hof and Residence, the former palaces of Bavarian monarchs. From here, continue to Odeonsplatz with its fascinating classical architecture.
After a walk through the royal garden, you will reach the final destination of this 3-hour walking tour English Garden, one of the largest urban parks in the world. Explore a part of this fantastic green oasis and watch the Eisbach surfers at the man-made waterfall. After your tour, your guide will lead you back to the city center or to your central Munich hotel.
If you want to learn more about Munich’s royal history, you can continue your tour with a visit to Nymphenburg Castle, the summer residence of Bavarian monarchs. Your guide will take you to the castle by public transportation (not included in tour price). Admire the richly decorated rooms in Baroque and Rococo style and explore the wonderful garden surrounding the castle with its canals, water features and little palaces. This tour upgrade will take an additional 2 hours including transfer time from city center.
Alternatively, if you are more interested in the sport's history of Munich, you can choose a visit to Oplympiapark, Munich's Olympic Park. Your guide will take you there by public transportation (not included in tour price). Take a look to the fantastic architecture of Munich's Olympiapark and learn about the history of the Olympic Games of 1972 from your local guide.
