You’ll be picked up from central Munich in the morning for your day trip to two gems of the Bavarian Alps: Neuschwanstein Castle and Linderhof Palace. On your scenic 1.5-hour drive, your expert guide provides commentary about the history and significance of the Bavaria region and its attractions. Your luxury coach offers comfortable seats, panoramic windows, Wi-Fi and a restroom, ensuring optimal comfort throughout your journey. Enjoy a complimentary snack box on board, with additional snacks and drinks available for purchase.
Your first stop is Linderhof Palace, a small palace built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria. Though inspired by France’s Versailles Palace, Linderhof’s interior is actually rather private and humble, as you’ll see on your 1-hour guided tour, but head to the surrounding gardens and you’ll discover why they’re considered among the most beautiful in the world, combining elements of Baroque, Italian Renaissance and English styles.
Leaving Linderhof behind, head next to Oberammergau, where you’ll have about 30 minutes of free time to walk around. Wander the lanes of this quaint village and see beautiful examples of the traditional art of woodcarving.
Continue driving along famous Romantic Road to the foot of majestic Neuschwanstein Castle. Before hiking up the hill for your guided tour of the castle, you can either have lunch (own expense) or set out for Mary's Bridge (Marienbr□cke), the best spot for postcard views of the castle.
The most famous of three royal palaces built for King Louis II of Bavaria, Neuschwanstein sits on a rugged hill above the village of Hohenschwangau. Take a guided tour of the 19th-century Romanesque Revival palace to learn about its peculiar past: it was intended as a personal refuge for the reclusive, crazed king, but it was opened to the public after his death in 1886.
Today Neuschwanstein is an architectural icon; in fact, it inspired Disney’s Sleeping Beauty and closely resembles Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland!

Delightful tour. Ursula the tour guide was dear and made the experience exceptional. Her enthusiasm was evident in the information she provided. The bus driver was also very helpful serving coffee and drinks when not driving. Definitely recommend this tour.

The tour to Neuschwanstein is magical. Linderhof is opulent while the castle is just lovely with spectacular views. The tour is well run, very efficient with adequate time to wander a bit but and well organized ticketing with no ticket queues. Annette was our guide and was most interesting and informative adding personal stories to the narrative. The premium small tour is more expensive but offered large bus with wide comfortable seats, only 22 people onboard, and included coffee tea snack service on board plus beer and wine for the return home. Nice added touches. Excellent trip. I would highly recommend.

My wife and I were very much looking forward to visiting two of Ludwig’s much lauded and beautiful Palaces and chose this tour to make it a little more special and because it also included a little trip to Oberammergau. The coach itself was very very nice. Everyone has a nice window seat, drinks and snacks are offered there and back and the driver and tour guide were very nice. The journey felt very safe and the commentary from the tour guide was good. There is a WC on board and the tour guide pointed out the facilities at each destination.Our disappointment though came when visiting both Schlo Linderhof and Schlo Neuschwanstein. Schlo Linderhof is having massive works in both front and rear gardens making them inaccessible and making photos of the place itself almost impossible with getting cranes and bulldozers in it.Schloss Neuschwanstein was even more of a disappointment. Not only was there scaffolding covering the front, the bridge from which all those amazing fairytale photos were taken, was closed for maintenance. The interiors of both were fascinating but the exteriors are supposed to be the stars here.We received no notification of any of the disruptions or building works going on by the tour company. Given the extensive works, we should have been notified and given the option of cancellation.

I will start off by saying that the castles and scenic ride to them are spectacular! Unfortunately for us, the day was very misty and we didn't get great views of Neuschwanstein from afar by it was magnificent up close. Caroline, our tour guide, was absolutely nice and her knowledge of the history was great. My only criticism is that Mary's Bridge was closed so there was no way to get that post card view during the winter months. Also, I wish that the tour would give more time at the various stops as we felt rushed when it came to shopping, eating and actually enjoying the views.

The palace and castle were excellent. Especially liked the view from Neuschwanstein and the stop in the small Bavarian town. Had plenty of time to explore and eat a nice lunch. Wear comfy shoes as the walk to the castle is long and steep. Our guide Lucy was very informative on the bus. She and our driver provided us w excellent service. Great bus outfitted w a Jura for coffee on the way there and beers on the way back. Highly recommend this VIP tour.

Very good. The bus was new and very comfortable. The tour guide eas excellent, she explained the whole history about the kingdom and the castles.

Overall the experience was wonderful. We were just a bit out of season since all the water features were already covered for expected winter snow. I would recommend doing the "Small Group" tours rather than the bigger bus load of people. The tour guide provided lots of information about the trip getting to the castles, as well as, the castles themselves.

Top of the line charter bus, even better guide who was not only helpful and entertaining on the tour but also when we’d run into her around town in our free time. Would go on any and all other tours offered because of this wonderful experience.

nice trip with a nice chauffeur and guide. The colours are beautiful. It was foggy so the atmosphere was different We saw the castles from inside we'll just have to come back to see the outside views.
