Meet your guide in central Munich and take a train to the Upper Bavarian region of Chiemgau, where Lake Chiemsee is located. Upon arrival at the lake, you will board a boat (included in your tickets) that will take you to Herreninsel, the biggest of the three islands on Lake Chiemsee.
Explore the Royal Palace of Herrenchiemsee, which was inspired by the famous Palace of Versailles near Paris. See the rooms of New Herrenchiemsee Palace, the King Ludwig II palace, and also visit the King Ludwig II Museum where you can admire jewelry and manuscripts as well as paintings of Ludwig II, documenting his life from birth to his tragic early death.
Next, you will visit Old Herrenchiemsee Palace where you can see the rooms King Ludwig II lived while New Herrenchiemsee Palace was built as well as the art gallery displaying pieces of Lake Chiemsee and more.
